This “America’s Got Talent” (AGT) 2018 Act Was The Inspiration.
No, no, NO. Sorry to disappoint you BUT it is not for I. My madness always has method.
Nope I am not going to be using it on anybody either. NO, I have never been into S&M. If anything my inclinations are 180° degrees off.
In my life, I know I have bought some crazy things, BUT this has to take the cake.
Somebody, and we will not mention, names wanted it. We are devoted fans of “America’s Got Talent” (AGT) and she saw this act earlier this Summer that had her totally captivated. She wants to try being an escape artist. As far as I know I cannot buy the required alligators from eBay. That might be harder to make happen.
When I looked I was surprised that they were not that expensive. I expected them to be at least $90. She had done some outside painting for me and I owed her around $35. So, this, quite literally was a no brainer.
Now that she has it, she is a bit intimidated. She is worried that we will not rescue her! So, she plans to STUDY escape on YouTube before going any further.
Dim Sum At ‘China Pearl’, Chinatown, Boston — Sunday, August 26, 2018.

I have been going to ‘China Pearl‘, in Chinatown, Boston, for over 25-years, on a regular basis, for Dim Sum — and the various posts on this blog will attest to the visits in recent years.
This surprisingly was but just our 2nd trip for Dim Sum in 2018. Usually, we would have gone earlier in the Summer too. Not this year. We did go to Boston in late April but did not have time for Dim Sum.
We got to ‘China Pearl’ an hour later than usual, at noon rather than 11am. We tried a new route into Boston and that was a bust.
They were crowded. Wow. But, it was good.
Glad we went. Beautiful day. Walked from China Pearl to & the ‘‘ and in the process got to see the incredible ‘Professor World Music‘.

August 27 — An Anniversary That Is Only Important To I.
I try to mark this day, viz., August 27, every year with a post. To be honest it is only meaningful to I and I am the only one that cares,
Wow. I left Ceylon 51-years ago. As I get older the percentage of my life I spent in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) shrinks.
Left from Katunayake Airport which in 1967 was pretty small — just one, ‘one-room’ building. Quite a few people came to see us off. It was night. I think the flight left around 9pm. We left on a Pan Am 707. My first time in a jet — though I had flown quite a bit on DC-3s. I had always liked the 707 and it is still one of my favorite planes today. First stop, for a day, for Athens, Greece.
44-years, to the day, I walked into IBM! Wow. Much water has flowed under the bridge in Romsey.
P.S., Lord Mountbatten’s assassination was on August 27 — in 1979. I was still at Hursley and remember it well.

“Professor World Band”, One-Man Band — Best Show In Boston, At Least In “The Park”.

Check out this short YouTube video.
There were quite a few ‘street performers’ playing in the ‘‘ (attached to the ‘Boston Common‘) today, i.e., Sunday, — in what was a glorious, near-perfect late Summer day. “Professor World Band“, hands down, by a long chalk, was the BEST — both in terms of the music, presentation and style.
Indubitably the best show in Boston that Sunday afternoon — and he plays for tips. He was SO GOOD we tipped him twice.
Tremendous. Musically outstanding, great songs (from the 1960s — 1970s) sung very well with the instrumental accompaniment just a sheer joy. And they you have the whole presentation, with him rotating himself around. We watched him for quite a few minutes.
We were lucky enough that we got to chat with him for a few minutes. He has been doing this for 35+ years and has played around the world. And he deserved to have. I just got the inkling that he was more than your typical busker. And he confirmed that when I asked him. He has a postgraduate degree in Biology and turned to music, as his way of protesting, during the Vietnam War.
I would love to engage him. He told me his mid-week rates. I would pay him three or four times that. Just don’t have an occasion to bring him up here. I will have to find one.
But, please check him out. You will THANK ME for it. I gather he is at ‘The Park’, in Boston, most weekends during the Summer.
