Garmin Connect Has A Flaw In Its Heart Rate Reporting.
My e-mail, today, to Garmin Support.
The problem is pretty simple and these 2
Garmin Connect screenshots prove it.
Look for the LOW ‘heart rate’ — once says ‘40‘, the other says ‘46‘.
The lowest heart can’t be both 40 & 46. It is one or the other. This is not a new problem. It has been the case for weeks. I just had time today to REPORT it to Garmin.
In case you were wondering ’40’ isn’t the lowest reading I get. I got 38 a couple of days ago — albeit when I am sleeping. Yes, 38! I am still alive — JUST.
I wish I can take ALL the credit for this low heart rate. Alas I can only take credit for 60% of it — say down to 50. The rest is my magic Toprol XL which I have been taking, daily, for 22-years! Toprol XL suppresses your heart rate!

Wolfeboro’s Mystical ‘Sacred Shared Space’ Now On The Web, Alongside ‘Made On Earth’.
Click image to access ‘Sacred Shared Space‘ Website.
Check it out. ‘Mary Beth‘ will be adding more content in the coming weeks.
It now joins Mary Beth’s ‘Made On Earth‘ which went online ‘last week’ — with fully-secure, online shopping.
So two Wolfboro landmarks have become more Web active of late.
Yes, I had a hand in both these two Websites, more so with ‘Sacred Shared Space’ than with ‘Made on Earth’.

Just one from our yard, the rest on our road, quite close by — taken when I walked the dogs around 5:30pm this evening. Hence the poor lighting.

Just one from our yard. Can you spot which one it is? You should be able to tell by now. {Smile}. The rest, in Alton, ‘up the road’ — towards and across Rte 28 (if you know this area). Foliage is definitely getting CLOSE to peaking — though we are probably 10-days out.

Garmin Vivoactive HR, A Product With ‘No’ Trade-In Value.

Just a representative item from eBay. There are more. So folks are bidding up to $81 and there is still nearly 2 days to go. This is closer to the mark. Click to ENLARGE.
Given that I will upgrade to the new Garmin Vivoactive 3 the first thing I did was check what I could get for a trade-in from Amazon since I have had reasonable joy trading in cameras and lenses with Amazon. You don’t get the ‘best’ price BUT there is no hassle and it is instant gratification.
That they are claiming that the trade-in value for a Garmin Vivoactive HR, in BEST condition, is $3.80 is hilarious. It is obviously a mistake and I will contact Amazon (a Prime Member and shareholder) and get them to rectify it.
In the case of the Vivoactive 3 I might TRY to sell it on Craigslist. If you are interested let me know. I am known for my largess when it comes to products I no longer need. {Smile}

The World’s First Nuclear-Powered Aircraft Carrier, The USS Enterprise, Was Launched This Day 57-Years Ago.
It was — and still is — the LONGEST naval craft EVER BUILT!
That it still holds that record is amazing.
The ‘Big E’. I was 7-years old when this was launched. I think I remember hearing about it in Ceylon.
Was NOT the first nuclear-powered naval vessel. That was, of course, the USS Nautilus, launched 5-years earlier.
That the ‘Big-E’ still remains the longest naval vessel is worth thinking about.
Other thing interesting is that was the 6th USS Enterprise — superseding CV-6, an aircraft carrier too, that had served during WW II — up until 1947.

I Will Upgrade To A Garmin Vivoactive 3, From the Vivoactive HR, When It Starts Shipping.
The better heart-rate & ‘fitness’ monitoring is ideal for my needs.
The new features that appeal to my needs.
As I pointed out in this post from just 2-days ago, the Garmin Vivoactive HR, which I bought on June 14, 2017, has CHANGED MY LIFE — for the better. I have not taken it off my wrist, from day 1, and I never thought I could go through life wearing anything on my wrist. I use it all the time and even keep my 10″ Android tablet close to my desk to make sure I have a connection!
Though it has NOT helped me lose any weight it sure has made me exercise MORE. I run further (33%), wearing more weights (83%) and do it FASTER. The later is the most amazing thing. Having ‘pace’ staring at you, as you run, just forces you to stretch your stride.
I check my heartrate …
The Vivoactive 3 has a BETTER (i.e., near constant monitoring) heartrate monitor. I would have upgraded just for that. But, it gets better. It has ‘fitness monitoring’ feature as well as one for ‘stress level’.
Plus it looks SLIGHTLY nicer than the Vivoactive HR. Wearing the Vivoactive HR is a bit strange for somebody who wore a diamond-studded Rolex for 26-years and has a collection of fancy looking watches.
I got the Vivoactive HR basically for FREE — using Best Buy reward points I earned when he bought (the accursed) Samsung Refrigerator. I will ‘trade it’ in for the Vivoactive 3. (But that is another post. {Smile})
I will keep you posted. Oh, I will get the black with the gunmetal bezel.
