It has now been just over a week since surgery.
Pain is still negligible!
On Tuesday, March 12, 2019, 5-days after surgery I had to see the surgeon.
My dressing was removed for the first time. That is what it looked like.
It looks bad but there really is no pain. I am in awe and awfully relieved. Hope it heals OK.
Staples will be removed on Friday, March 22, 2019. That will be interesting.
Theodore McCarrick has to resign his cardinalate and is later defrocked on February 16, 2019.
George Pell is languishing in prison as of February 28, 2019.
And now Godfried Danneels dies.
Slowly, but surely, cardinals heavily implicated in child sex abuse crimes are ‘going away’ permitting the Church to be cleansed — if that is ever going to be possible.
Godfried used to be a good apple. He sacrificed his credibility and reputation to minimize the, inexcusable, crime of child sex abuse. I used to like him. But, that was before his true colors — black as they were — came to light.
As far as I am concerned he can no longer cause more harm.
I somehow doubt that he would make it to heaven because that would be a travesty.
Don’t make fun of me for recommending a book that was published in 2003. Sorry. I very rarely read a book as soon as it is published — ‘The Da Vinci Code’ the one exception I can remember.
We appeared to have picked up a copy of this alluring book at our local ‘Swap Shop‘ where you can invariably find a good book or two. I think it had been languishing around the house for some time. Having read ‘Hawaii‘, ‘Miracle in Seville‘, ‘The Covenant‘ & ‘ Tales of the South Pacific‘ within the space of 10-months I needed a break from Michener. I saw the book, liked the title and started reading it.
Yes, of course, millions have obviously raved about this book ahead of I. The cover itself has the splash banner that says ‘A New York Times Bestseller‘.
To I it was a less intense version of “To Kill A Mockingbird“! Set slightly later in the South but a story that revolves around the racial inequality and tension of pre-Civil Rights USA. Very cleverly done. Kind of disappointing to learn that it is all fiction. It definitely feels very real.
You want to know what happens next. As such it is quite the page turner. Yes, there is some ‘fluff’, but that is ‘OK’. I assume it was meant primarily for a female audience. That bothers me none. I enjoyed it. I have some familiarity of Black Madonna worship around the world. So, I enjoyed that aspect.
They have made a movie of the book. I watched the trailer. Hhmm. Some actresses from “Hidden Figures” a movie that I have already watched twice. But, from the little I saw, it didn’t seem to jive with the book. So, I am not going to rush into watching it.
Highly recommended. If you haven’t read it, do yourself a favor and read it.
Yes, I have been asked to evaluate the Fitbit Versa Lite. It is fun. I get to try out all sorts of new activity trackers. I like it. Yes, it involves work and putting away my trust Garmin Fenix 5 Plus for a few weeks.
So, far, I am impressed.
Very lite. Very cheery. I like it.
Yes, I know I am very lucky and I never lose sight of that.
But, I really do have to evaluate them and I try to write at least two reviews: one short and the other detailed. I take it seriously — which is why folks send me these activity trackers to evaluate.
Just heard of another one that I am likely to get in about 6-weeks. That really made me SMILE. Yes, I will share when I get it.
Kind of the story of my life. That I am a conscientious and driven worker has always stood me in good staid. That I can write, or more to the point that I learnt to write and ENJOY writing, was the icing on the cake.
