Today’s letter from Pope Francis to the U.S. Catholics about Catholic Clerical Sex Abuse was a masterpiece in obfuscation.

Francis is playing the U.S. Catholics like Nero playing the fiddle.

This Pope, all talk, no trousers, does NOTHING … just yada, yada, yada …

Folks, they are LAUGHING at YOU at the Vatican.

So, gullible. So meek — and NO, you will not inherit the world.

Francis could have fired a couple of Cardinals. Now that would show some real contrition and courage.

Francis has no courage. He is a weak, pretentious, spineless man.

The U.S. Catholics must stand up.

Stop giving the Church all that money. That is the only thing that will get their attention.

The Saddest (& In A Way Funniest) Thing That I Read Today — Albeit On Facebook.

How to gradually reduce sensual desires?

Doesn’t old age do enough on that front?

Yes, I appreciate that this all has to do with the Buddhist fear of having too much fun. And that is why I am NOT a Buddhist.

You can read my response. I do NOT think they were amused BUT, as Buddhist, they are way to polite to delete my comment or be rude to I.

Sad. Sad. Sad.

Some very sad, unhappy people in this world.

Mouthwash & Diabetes — There Might Be Something To This!

by Anura Guruge

Click to access my original post from May 26, 2018.

Hhhhmmmm! There really might be some merit to this, i.e., using mouthwash destroys mouth/stomach bacteria that help ward off diabetes. Put, it another way, not using mouthwash reduces your risk of getting diabetes.

I was a compulsive and heavy user of mouthwash. I washed my mouth AT LEAST twice a day — using TWO different mouthwashes; first hydrogen peroxide and then a generic Listerine. But, I STOPPED entirely ~3 months ago.

Last week (on ) I had my DREADED annual physical with my Indian doctor.

It was, as I dread, a NIGHTMARE. I got lectured and chastised on my weight (and I had put on a TON of pudge since last year), my diet, my alcohol consumption etc. etc. He wants me to lose weight (lots of it), go on the Bill Clinton vegan diet, totally eliminate the alcohol etc. etc. It was not pleasant.

So, after 40-minutes of getting reprimanded I was getting ready to crawl out of the office, head firmly between my legs.

He clears his throat and says: ‘Oh! Just one thing. Your A1C went down. It is the lowest it has been in 5-years‘.

I asked him if that was good. Appears it is. A1C reflects your average blood glucose levels over the past 3 months.

I am so battered and bruised that I didn’t take it all in.

It was about 36-hours later, when I managed to claw back some composure, that this A1C news sank in and I could reflect on it.

My A1C has gone down, BUT I have put on a TON of weight. My diet rather than improving had got worse, much worse. I was eating (and drinking) MORE carbs than I have had in 6-years.

But, my A1C was at a 5-year low.

Then it struck me. The ONLY thing that had changed is that I had STOPPED using mouthwash 3-months ago, and A1C is a 3-month ‘marker’.

Yes, could be a total coincidence and it may have NOTHING to do with the mouthwash. But, I can’t think of what else.

But, I am staying well clear of the mouthwash. Nobody as complained of my bad breath as yet — but then again I don’t go near people.

Just wanted to share this with YOU.

Maybe it is worth trying — i.e., stop using mouthwash.

I know two things — it saves me around 10-minutes a day and about $6/week.
