Taken with the refurbished $269 Canon PowerShot G1 X that I received this afternoon — from Canon. JPEGs, as usual, with no post-processing, whatsoever. Straight out of the camera. I am not a lover of post-processing. Image of G1 X taken with my Panasonic Lumix FZ1000.

Original 4352 x 3264, ~3Mb,
 JPEGs reduced to 1024 x 768, 170 Kb, for display here.
So v. low resolution. Sorry.

Talk about irony.

This unprecedented, hard to imagine (let alone quantify) exponential explosion in data over the last 2 years, and IBM, in theory the BEST company to have profited from it given that it has servers, storage, software and services, saw its revenues decline — over that very same period.

This is not right. This reflects on management.

AB_de_Villiers_glove_(cropped)Talk about an abundance of riches. The South African batting line is ‘crazy’ in not a GREAT way. Quinton de Kock, Amla, du Plessis, AB, Duminy (who has blossomed in the last 12 months), Behardien and Miller! What a nice problem to have.

Abraham Benjamin “AB” de Villiers at #4 is a waste — and he knows that. Yes, of course, I know that he is wicket-keeping as well, BUT I think he is plenty fit. He should open with de Kock — who I think is THE most EXCITING young cricketer on the scene at the moment! I have seen a lot of him and there is a lot to like. Very pleasing on the eye.

AB coming in at #4 does NOT give him enough overs. That is the issue. AB #3 and du Plessis #4.
