Second time in 9 months that we have had a featured ‘Car of the Month’ with the “British Cars of New Hampshire” (BCNH). In July 2015 they featured Devanee’s 1969 British Racing Green MGB. So this is neat.

We got the British Green 1968 MGB on September 14, 2014. So in October it started its 2nd year with us, especially in terms of registration and inspection stickers.
This time around we took the MGB to B-Boys of Barnstead — the best mechanics, for miles, in our opinion. This was the first time that Paul Bousquet, the owner of B-Boys, had seen the MGB. Given that he is very thorough and conscientious he found a TON of bodywork that had to be fixed. We had to leave it with Paul for nearly 10 days! We missed it not seeing it in the garage.
Last year I just did not have time to go down to Concord to get NH Antique plates. This year we made time. We dropped the plates off with Paul Monday evening. Today we picked it up (though to be fair to Paul it was ready yesterday afternoon). So now it sports, for the first time, NH Antique plates — and by that virtue has an inspection sticker valid till April 2017. So we are happy. It wasn’t cheap BUT it wasn’t a total arm-and-leg either. Just a few fingers and toes.
Paul joked as to how many thousands of miles we planned to drive it before it is back for its inspection in April 2017. He knew. We will be lucky IF we drive 500 miles in total! Now that we have the V-12 Jaguar XJS convertible we don’t drive the MGB much — just enough to keep it ticking over.

Yes, we know where they were coming from — ‘Castle in the Clouds‘ following the ‘British Cars of New Hampshire‘ (BCNH) and JANE (Jaguar Association of New England) ‘show-and-tell’ event.
Yes, we should have gone. We are BCNH members. But it is a question of time and priorities.
The Membership Person at BCNH drew my attention to this before I even realized. Once I had told him about my ‘crazy’ life — vastly complicated by my incurable addiction to writing — he asked me, via e-mail, point-blank: “aren’t you going to be TOO BUSY to attend our events?“. He was RIGHT! I should have saved my membership dues. But that is OK. Right now, as with ‘Comet ISON‘ and Pope John XXIII’s canonization I am working on a book — Pope Francis’ visit to the U.S. in September — that has a HARD deadline. So complicates matters further.
Devanee, understandably, was bummed. But, the kids understand. I feel bad for them. But they do get to go many places.

Deanna had seen it a couple of weeks ago and had told me that I should go check it out! Though she is NOT in favor of me getting anymore Jags she still is willing to let me look.
Devanee and I took a quick break from Friday’s ‘all-day’ “Blood, Sweat & Tears” setup, to go and have a quick look.
It is at 458 Center Street in Wolfeboro. The big “1810 House B&B and Antiques“. Ask for the son, Chris O’Brien. Chris normally lives in Pennsylvania. That explains the plates (and his phone number). Yes, you can call him on: .
It is in good enough shape. I, of course, prefer the topless. But I am committed to helping Chris sell this. Word of caution. Chris does NOT have to sell it. So there will be a hard floor as to how far you can beat him down! SMILE.
P.S., the ‘HE’ stands for ‘high efficiency‘, i.e., better mileage.
