Prospect Mountain High School’sBob 319robotics team (which includes Devanee) had another bumper year, winning many titles in competitions far-and-wide, and being the runners-up in their national competition in Detroit — in April.

School is coming to an end, and the seniors like Devanee have graduated. So, this was the end-of-season congratulatory dinner for the team, all of its boosters, supporters, family and friends. It was a good night. Good and plentiful food. Everybody had fun with the night ending with a final demo of this years robot.

‘Atoll’, To Their Credit, Honors “Father’s Day” Special, Though I Bought Inflatable Paddle Board Through Amazon.

I saw the “Father’s Day” special offer on their Website. There was no mention whether I would get it if I ordered the board through Amazon.

I really wanted to order it from Amazon. I get 6-month, interest free financing and it is crazy not to avail oneself of that generous offer. So, I contacted Atoll.

To their credit they immediately told me that they will ship me the 8″ Flex Fin, free of any charges (including shipping), as soon as I provide them with my Amazon order number. I was impressed. It confirmed my belief that they were a CLASS ACT. Glad I went with them rather than iRocker.

I sent them the Amazon order number and WITHIN MINUTES they sent me an USPS tracking number for my fin! WOW. Was I delighted.

So, now you know. You still have time left.

The Ladies In ‘Hidden Figures’ Gets A Road At NASA Named In Their Honor (Though, Alas, Obliquely).

One of my favorite movies. It was SO uplifting, humbling and inspiring. What a story.

I am glad that NASA is trying to make amends. The initial indignities they lived through were inexcusable. Yes, in the movie, there is the great scene when they take down the ‘whites only’ sign in the ladies restroom. So, NASA now is taking things a bit further. That is good.

But, I am NOT thrilled that the road is named ‘‘. Hhmmm. That is the name of a book/movie. It only refers to these three AMAZING ladies obliquely.

Yes, I would have preferred to have seen their names — and to have had this honor bestowed when all three were alive — though Katherine Johnson is still alive, at 100! And yes, Katherine Johnson does have a NASA facility named after her, albeit again but this year.

What about the other two. They need to be honored and remembered too.

But, better than nothing. So, another small step.

If you haven’t seen it, please watch the movie. I have seen it twice already. You will be  glad you did. A wonderful story. Still very relevant.
