India’s Winning ODI Series Against Australia After 3rd ODI Win — Leaves Me In Awe & Amazement.
Just two days, after watching the highlights of the Indians winning the 2nd ODI against Australia, I said that ‘they’, i.e., the Indians, looked invincible.
Then, a couple of hours ago, I watched the 3rd ODI. I thought Aaron Finch’s return, and his magnificent 124, had turned the corner for Steve Smith and Australia. Yes, the middle order dissapointed, but 293 wasn’t too bad of a total.
India just cruised to victory. Yes, there was a few tense moments BUT Dhoni hardly had to face a ball. Hardik Pandya is one heck of a cricketer. He is exciting to watch, batting, bowling or fielding. Can you imagine what his nickname will be in dressing rooms in Australia, England and New Zealand. As far as nicknames go it would not be one that is HARD to take!
What a bloody team. I am in AWE. Indians must be SO happy.

The Current Indian Cricket Team Seems Invincible — 11 International Wins In A ROW!

Click image to access original from the “Hindustan Times”.
I do enjoy watching the Indians and have watched the all 11 of their last games; 9 against Sri Lanka and 2 against Australia. They won them ALL, and three of those were Tests. That is pretty damn impressive. They have now beaten Australia twice on the trot, though the first ODI was rain-affected and based on Duckworth-Lewis. I really expected the Aussies to have fought back with vigor as they did against Bangladesh.
The 2nd ODI was exciting. Lost of drama. Pandya getting hit on the head and then getting run-out off a no-ball. Exciting stuff.

Donald Trump Told Mexican President, In January 2017, That New Hampshire Is A ‘Drug-Infested Den’.
His full statement to Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, in January 2017, was:
“I won New Hampshire because New Hampshire is a drug-infested den,” he said.
Well, he won NH during the Primary BUT NOT in the 2016 General Election. Hillary Clinton won New Hampshire in 2016!
So …
But, to be fair to ‘Agent Orange’ New Hampshire does have a MASSIVE drug problem. So, let’s not get too distracted by this statement. We need to FIX the drug problem in New Hampshire. Period.

Arthur Ashe, The Incomparable, Won Wimbledon, This Day 42 Years Ago — I Remember It Well.
Arthur Ashe, one of my abiding heroes,
is still the ONLY black man to have won the
Wimbledon men’s title.
I still remember that momentous day in vivid detail.
I was living in a picturesque cottage in Owslebury, Hampshire, that I was renting from a Major in the British Army. See below — though that lane has changed a ‘bit’ in the last 42 years!
It was my first Summer there having moved in Owslebury in September 1974 when I started working for IBM.
It was a sunny, warm Saturday. My in-laws were up for the weekend. The Major was extremely nice but was very particular that we maintained his ‘pride and joy’ in tip-top shape. So that Saturday all of us were busy getting the frontage to the road under control. So we labored in the sun while listening to the live commentary on the BBC.
I was so delighted when Arthur won. I cried. We watched the BBC TV coverage that night on my new Sony color TV.
I miss Arthur Ashe. He was A MAN — a great man. What a shame we lost him so young.

MY West Indies, ICC World Twenty20, #ICCWT20, Champions 2016!
I watched the entire game, every single ball, LIVE. I got out of bed at 9am (crack of dawn for me) to make sure that I was downstairs, in front of my 47″ HDTV screen, ready for the match.
It was one heck of a game. Towards the end, it was so good, I really didn’t care who won.
But you have to admit that the 51% to 49% in favor of West Indies that I predicted two days ago truly reflected the outcome and the match.
Do I regret my scathing comments on Marlon Samuels. Not really. He did OK. But that is what he is payed to do. Let’s not forget that. HE did NOT win the match. Carlos Brathwaite WON the match. 19 off the last over (a T20 final record) would have been beyond Marlon’s reach or for that matter most of the others in the team. So do NOT tell me that Samuels got the Windies to victory. His innings was scratchy. Yes, he held it together but he didn’t score fast enough.
In many ways it was a FLUKE victory. Four 6s in a row. That was a lot to ask for.
But in the end I am delighted. Happy for the likes of Carlos. Made my day. Glad I watched it live.
GRIN.

My letter to the U.K. “The Times” asking for the West Indies to be eliminated from International cricket. Click to ENLARGE and read.
I have said IT before, let me say it again.
The West Indies should NO LONGER be allowed to play INTERNATIONAL Cricket.
The pathetic, apathetic, groveling performance in Hobart, against Australia, in the 1st Test, PROVED, conclusively, what I have maintained.
Australia, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Bangladesh, England, Zimbabwe, India, Pakistan & South Africa are NATIONS, proud ones at that, and those that play for those NATIONAL SIDES do so with PATRIOTISM & PRIDE.
There is NO NATION called the West Indies.
They are but a meaningless franchise and it shows.
There is NO PRIDE, no patriotism, NOTHING.
It is a bloody disgrace.
In 1976 the proud West Indians of that era smouldered when Tony Greig said he would make them grovel.
This bunch of pathetic pussies grovel without even been asked to.
STOP THIS CHARADE.
Yes, Kraigg Brathwaite, who I have applauded in the past, did OK. But his 63.51% does NOT compare to Gordon Greenidge‘s (who my son is named after) efforts. For a start, Gordon, my hero, scored a century. Brathwaite, as if to PUNCTUATE what is wrong with the West Indies, fell short. In 1976 the West Indies WON by 425 runs. After Brathwaite the West Indies LOST by an INNINGS and 212 runs. Does not compare.
