Serena Williams’ Appalling Behavior At The U.S. Open — Definitely Wasn’t Cricket.

Wow. WOw. WOW!

I have never seen anything like that from a professional, famous sports figure! That was totally uncalled for. She looked demented, even demonic. What was she thinking?

Why was she allowed to get away with it? Her $17,000 fine, given the $1.54 MILLION she got paid for playing in the U.S. Open, was a pathetic JOKE. She should have been FINED $3 Million.

I watch at least an hour of professional cricket, from around the world, every day. Cricket prides itself on the decorum of play. Players seldom take exception, on the field, to a decision made by an official. When they do, they are HARSHLY punished and penalized. They can lose ALL their match fees — and more. They can be banned for months.

Unlike cricket, which is very much a team sport, tennis (even with doubles) is an individual sport — and I guess tennis doesn’t want to lose the money-making power of star players. But her behavior brought the game and HUMANKIND into disrepute. What kind of example is this to our kids. They should NOT be taught that screaming at an official is acceptable behavior.

I really was shocked and even more so that she was allowed to get away with it.
