“Free The Nipple” Now In New Zealand Which Has Liberal But Ambiguous Topless/Nudity Laws.

by Anura Guruge

As someone who goes topless as often as I can, I have always been a big proponent of toplessness — whether it be people or cars.

I fully support a female’s right to go topless.

The one gripe I have had with the “Free the Nipple” movement, especially the New Hampshire arm, is that you can’t PROTEST for ‘freeing the nipple’ when the LAW already permits (or at least does not stop) female toplessness.

So, I basically don’t agree with PROTESTING to free something that is ALREADY FREE. To I that just feels wrong and an insult to all of those, worldwide, that are protesting against things that are unreasonably banned.

On that vein, the situation in New Zealand is interesting. Basically they appear to have no statutes against nudity. That is different from say New Hampshire which has a statute that says female topless is not against the law. Hence the ambiguity. Not having a law is sometimes not the same as having a law that says something is permitted or not. So on that basis I am all in favor of this movement in New Zealand.

Google “New Zealand Free The Nipple” for much more. Even pictures. {SMILE}
