If you read this blog even spasmodically you might be aware that I routinely rave about the brilliance of the U.K. news coverage. I guess I must write, at least once a week, that the “Daily Mail” is my all time favorite newspaper in the whole world. It was the paper that I used to get delivered, to the house, daily, early in the morning, during nearly all of my ‘adult’ life living in the U.K.
Given that I find that the Daily Mail has better coverage of U.S. news than I get from CNN (and that is really about the only news channel I watch, not counting CNBC and MSNBC), I have started reading the Daily Mail, in bed, in the mornings, with my coffee, while CNN or CNBC on the TV. That way I feel that I get the best of all worlds.
Today, in the Mail I saw this coverage about this supposed Twitter by ‘Kevin Roper’ the Walmart 18-wheeler truck driver involved in the tragic Tracy Morgan accident in New Jersey.
Amazing.
Reminded me of a similar audacious brag, in print, in a newspaper, by a local N.H. editor who casually boasts that he was driving, most of the way, at 90 mph!
Intrigues me that CNN does not mention this.
But then again CNN has said very little about yesterday’s terrorist attack on Karachi Airport in Pakistan. I would have thought that CNN could have made a real, 2 month long meal ‘banquet’ of that as it did with Malaysian Air MH370. Suffice to say CNN is rather strange.
I am glad that I have my Daily Mail to keep me posted with the ever intriguing news insights that give you a whole new perspective on breaking news stories. CNN might want to just scrape and plagiarize the Daily Mail stories.
