Australians, understandably, do not like to commemorate it as such, but January 26, 1788 — 230-years ago, was when the first shipment of British convicts landed in Sydney Cove, Australia to become the First European settlement in Australia.
They like to call it . We, the Brits, understand. We always remember what it means. Cheers.
