Mark my word, something is wrong with Hashim Amla — the captain of the woefully struggling South African’s in India.
I think he has among OTHER things an eyesight problem! In the First Day of the 4th Test against India, in Delhi, he dropped 3 slip catches. Amla dropping catches! I bet prior to that he probably hadn’t dropped three catches in a calendar year. Not right.
He is also getting out CHEAPLY. This used to be, just recently, the World’s #1 Batsman! Something is not right.
In the 3rd Test Match I noticed a MARKED bruise under his right eye. Did he get hit by a ball. That could have done some damage.
I like Amla. What is there not to like. Great cricketer and seems like an all-round nice guy.
BUT HE IS NOT A GOOD CAPTAIN.
His handling of Imran Tahir in the 3rd Test Match showed that — graphically. Not his fault. Being a cricket captain is not something you can be taught. You either have it in you or you don’t. Amla doesn’t. That is fine. Let him go back to being the World’s best opening bat.
He has made a LOT of bad decisions. Another is the omission of Quinton de Kock. Jesus wept. Quinton is class. The new openers. Quinton is better than all of them put together. Plus he is a better wicketkeeper than the one that is struggling like crazy.
And they have AB de Villiers, the ex-captain, in the team. This rotation of captains is silly. Yes, it is a very taxing job BUT if you are good at it, like AB was (and he is good at everything he does) let him have it for life.
So just a heads up. Mark my word. Remember this post.
No, with Hashim Amla, I don’t think there is any match fixing. WOW.
