Quite a few, very well produced, U.K. nude charity calendars for 2018 — male, female and combined. I will try and share a few more with you.
For my catholic tastes this, the ‘Hitchin Rugby Club Ladies’ calendar, was the most appealing — partly because I am rather partial to rugby. Not a coincidence that in 2015 I also picked another rugby team — the Oxford University Women’s. But, in addition, some great pictures of these rugby playing ladies from Hitchin, and WOW — these ladies are toned.
I am not getting any calendars this year — after doing so for the last few years. The novelty has kind of gone, I think. However, I still like to check what is out there.
Much has changed about the UNDERSTANDING of Fibromyalgia over the last few years.
It is safe to say that Fibromyalgia today is NOT your mother’s Fibromyalgia (75% of those diagnosed with Fibromyalgia being women).
The actual name ‘Fibromyalgia’ is no longer accurate. Fibromyalgia, where ‘algia‘ is Latin for pain means pain to do with fibrous tissue (Fibro) and muscles (myo).
It used to be considered a condition related to rheumatism (or arthritis).
NOT SO ANYMORE.
The ‘American College of Rheumatology’ when talking about the causes of fibromyalgia states: “… it is as though the “volume control” is turned up too high in the brain’s pain processing centers”.
The ‘National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases’ (a member of the U.S. ‘National Institutes of Health’) now says, in the section on ‘causes’: ‘Many researchers are examining other causes, including problems with how the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord) processes pain’.
The Lyrica commercial NOW acknowledges this. At the 15 second mark, shown above in the image, it says: “… thought to be the result of overactive nerves”.
Lyrica, the leading medication used to treat Fibromyalgia finally admitting that Fibromyalgia is a nervous system disorder.
That should help.
The commercial also goes onto say, with more emphasis than ever before, that Lyrica INCREASES DEPRESSION.
Well depression is known to make Fibromyalgia WORSE and that is not anecdotal.
So, if you have Fibromyalgia watch this commercial a FEW times ……

The 2017 Nude Charity Calendar
and my 2 copies are in the mail
(and I have an e-mail to that effect).
Last year as you must remember it was the memorable ‘Oxford University Women’s Rugby Team’ Nude Calendar.
This year it is the competing British University — Cambridge.
And it is Unisex and there appears to be more men. I ALREADY ordered a copy for Deanna. See below.
“Blues“: no, NOT the music.
And yes, the British media has already made all the jokes about “blue (orbs)“! Crude.
“Blues” in this context is University ‘colors’ (or what they refer to as ‘Letters’ in the U.S.). It means that the person has represented Cambridge at one of the recognized sports. The term goes back to the “Blue Cap” one got when one was selected to play cricket for the elite Cambridge University cricket first XI.
First and foremost there are two things wrong with the TITLE of this PBS special. The title for the pope is dead WRONG! He is “Saint Pope John Paul II” or “Pope Saint John Paul II“. It is important that ‘Pope’ is in the title along with Saint. Plus, and this is important, he is NOT, and I REPEAT, NOT “John Paul”. He is, was and will always be “John Paul II“. There is another Pope John Paul who will one day be a Saint. They actually got this pope’s name dead wrong too! When talking about his election in 1978, and then Cardinal Karol Jzef Wojtyla paying his homage to the new pope, they referred to the pope as “John Paul”. NO. He was NEVER, EVER “John Paul”. From the moment he accepted the papacy he was “John Paul I”. These are small but important things that PBS should have got right.
Then the title claims “secrets” — in plural. But from what I can see this program is all about his relationship with Polish Anna Teresa Tymieniecka (who by the way had a Hanover, New Hampshire connection). The program tries to insinuate that it was a platonic relationship with no physical element. But there is no proof either way. Plus popes are notorious for their scandalous very intimate relationship with women, married women as well, over the millennia. So in the scheme of things this is not such a big deal.
What would have been more interesting is the oft stated belief that the Pope was a widow or a divorcee! He supposedly having been married, young, ahead of WW II.
So bit of a disappointing and tedious program. Just one SECRET and it is not that intriguing unless there is proof that she was actually his mistress in the accepted connotation of such relationships.

I ordered 4 copies of the Oxford University Rugby Football Club — Women’s (Nude) Calendar 2016 for Christmas. Deanna wanted one and I gave one to my 23-year old son, Matthew. I gave another as a surprise Christmas present to a ‘character’ at our Alton Hannaford’s Supermarket. It made his day. I kept one, unopened, as a long-term investment. I might even have it listed in my will.
Deanna intended to use hers all along and I was happy about that. So it is on the wall, in our ‘Office Area’ (i.e., the entire 4th floor of this house), on her side, next to her table. We had not given it any thought until Teischan was up here over the weekend. She wanted to know why Mum had a calendar with naked ladies on her wall? That is when it occurred to me that I should take a picture for posterity.

I have said IT before, let me say it again.
The West Indies should NO LONGER be allowed to play INTERNATIONAL Cricket.
The pathetic, apathetic, groveling performance in Hobart, against Australia, in the 1st Test, PROVED, conclusively, what I have maintained.
Australia, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Bangladesh, England, Zimbabwe, India, Pakistan & South Africa are NATIONS, proud ones at that, and those that play for those NATIONAL SIDES do so with PATRIOTISM & PRIDE.
There is NO NATION called the West Indies.
They are but a meaningless franchise and it shows.
There is NO PRIDE, no patriotism, NOTHING.
It is a bloody disgrace.
In 1976 the proud West Indians of that era smouldered when Tony Greig said he would make them grovel.
This bunch of pathetic pussies grovel without even been asked to.
STOP THIS CHARADE.
Yes, Kraigg Brathwaite, who I have applauded in the past, did OK. But his 63.51% does NOT compare to Gordon Greenidge‘s (who my son is named after) efforts. For a start, Gordon, my hero, scored a century. Brathwaite, as if to PUNCTUATE what is wrong with the West Indies, fell short. In 1976 the West Indies WON by 425 runs. After Brathwaite the West Indies LOST by an INNINGS and 212 runs. Does not compare.

I really do NOT get it.
IBM seems all at sea.
It just doesn’t seem to be able to get anything right these days.
This video commercial was so sexist. As a father of three daughters and an ex-IBMer I am pretty amazed that MY IBM no longer had the smarts to see that this was going to offend the very target audience they were trying to woo.
Has it got anything to do with the current CEO? I am just asking.
I get the impression that IBM is being run by the 85-year old Warren Buffett who has admitted he is not much into computers.

From the U.K. “Daily Mail“.

Sachin Tendulkar & Shane Warne rang the opening bell at the NYSE this morning.
That is HOW I found out about this — not living in NYC, LA or Houston.
The T20 teams from around the World.
Some BIG names.
This is GREAT news. Cricket, given the MILLIONS of Indians, Sri Lankans and Pakistanis now living in the U.S., not even mentioning the Brits and Aussies, has a HUGE — but low still low profile — following in the U.S. You can see multiple cricket games, being played with gusto, in any of the major U.S. cities from May to October. When we went to Philadelphia in May (to pick up the Jaguar XJ8) we saw at least 4 games in progress right in the heart of the city.
So this good. I am glad. I hear that the prices are quite high, $100+ at some venues and even higher. That is a shame. It is the kids that we need at these games.
Right now I get so much cricket that I cannot keep up! A real problem. I am TRYING to watch, even in just Highlight form, Australia v. New Zealand 1st Test, Pakistan v. England 3rd Test and Sri Lanka v. West Indies WOMEN ODIs. Given that I can only justify devoting about 80 minutes a day to cricket, I just can’t keep up. I am missing much of the India v. South Africa series. Yes, this is all on the Roku via Sling.
I will try and keep you posted on this. Not sure whether they will show this on ESPN.

Pixelating the nipples just draws attention. IF they were NOT pixelated you would not even have noticed?
British tabloids, as I show right below, have been publishing full-frontal topless pictures, the iconic ‘Page 3’, for 44 years!
This is crazy. This is 2015. Why this pretense?
And then there is this from January 22, 2015. Click here for original.
“The Sun” still prints its iconic Topless Page 3 girls
as they have done for 44 years.
In that same edition, i.e., today’s, they also had these two stories. So it isn’t as if they don’t go looking for topless/nude stories. I have no problem with that. BUT don’t print the story and pictures and then pixelate the images. There is no need.
