Well winter 2018 — 2019 is here. We are expecting at least 8″ of snow by morning. Already told the kids no school — so don’t even bother setting the alarms. At 9:45pm there was no snow. These pictures were taken around 11:55pm. Coming down fast.

I will keep you posted on Friday AFTER I have done some shoveling. Got 4 shovels and the snow pusher out and deployed Friday morning — in anticipation.

Teischan & I Enjoying ALL The Snow We Got With March 2018 Winter Storm “Skylar”.

This is the most snow we have had with one storm in a LOG TIME! Definitely over 2 feet (24 inches).

But, we prevailed. Devanee did a fair amount of shovelling to get HER car out. This morning was my 4th go around. Teischan helps. Her main goal is to keep her trampoline clear and in this storm she had to shovel the trampoline three times!

But, we took some time off.

I am glad that Google did a Doodle to commemorate this special day.

I see that we had a blizzard on Pi Day 2017. We have the continuation of Winter Storm “Skylar” this year.

Who would have thought. So much snow on Pi Day — like frosting for the Pi.

Enjoy.

March 2018 Winter Storm “Skylar” Dumped Over 2′ (Yes, 2 Feet) Of Snow!

Third snow storm, third Nor’Easter at that (in that the wind/snow is coming from the NE), in as many weeks. This, by far, the most spectacular and SEVERE.

Quinn” last week gave us 9″. That was pretty easy to deal with.

Skylar” started off deceptively — though we had all heard the forecasts and kind of knew what to expect.

At 10:30am when I went out to shovel for the first time there wasn’t that much snow. Less than 4″.

Then it started coming down heavy.

We were out twice after that and have only made a DENT!

Luckily it is light, fluffy snow. BUT, LOTS of it.

Going to be spending a lot of time tomorrow clearing some of it. This one is going to take a few days to clear.

I will keep you posted. More pictures tomorrow.

We Prevailed Over The March 2018 Winter Storm “Mighty Quinn”.

Before and After

We got a foot of snow — BUT not too much wind and we did NOT lose power, though I had the three (3) generators lined up and read to go.

Lot of snow. But, we have seen worse.

Cleared all that we wanted to clear in just under an hour with three of us shoveling.

I did NOT clear the mailbox as yet. That can wait. Temperature is already above freezing and I am going let the Sun do some melting.

Yes, this too, in the end, was a Southern Storm — meaning folks South of us got the brunt of it.

Glad it is behind us.

I probably will be shoveling into the weekend.

But, we subdued the “Mighty Quinn“.

2018 Winter Storm ‘Liam’ — Fair Amount Of Fluffy Snow.

by Anura Guruge

Snowed from around 11am on Wednesday well into Wednesday night, maybe stopping around 8pm. The three of us went out and shoveled for 45 minutes from 4:30pm to 5:15pm. But there was an 1″ or more of snow over where we had cleared by the time the snow finished. Light fluffy snow. Not too had to remove.

Took the dogs out for a walk in the snow this morning. Sun was out, in force. It was quite pretty and not too cold. First Thursday in a month that I was not skiing.

I then shoveled non-stop for an hour. Got the main part of the drive down to the asphalt. That is always a good feeling.

So, that was “Liam“.

Next is “Mateo” — that might be TONIGHT, i.e., Friday night. Supposed to be a small one.
