There is as you will see if you read either of the stories or watch the YouTube a purpose for this contest. It was not all for titillation and salaciousness. They were looking for MODELS. And that makes sense.
As I did comment on this post to do with the “30 foot Wall of Vaginas”, vaginas do come in very different shapes, sizes, looks and configurations — and that is just in terms of external appearance. I am by no means an expert given I have only seen one or two at most (and at this point my wife Deanna, if she reads this, will scream at me) but I do know that some vaginas are definitely more attractive (and as such aesthetically more appealing) than others. I am not going to go into this (and I assure you that no pun was intended there) but there are some …
Anywho. Check it out.

Love of all things train-related (and with that model railroads) has been one of my longest abiding lifelong passions – even predating my devotion to cricket and airplanes. I am surrounded by model trains as I write this. I have a badly neglected Z-gauge train set, on a table, right in front of me, to my side I have three small shelves with HO and N-gauge railway engines — including an N-gauge, 4-8-8-4 Union Pacific Big Boy. But since I grew up in Ceylon, during the first decade of independence after 200 years of avuncular British rule, it was British toys that shaped my life and Hornby bestrided that world.
It was Hornby 3-track, ‘dublo‘ [i.e., double-“O”, OO, the UK variant of HO] train sets, Meccano construction sets and Dinky toys. [My mother once reckoned that I had over 500 Dinky Toys between the ages of 2 and 12. I have to confess I destroyed them all!] Frank Hornby invented Hornby Trains, Meccano and Dinky. What a man.
I asked this question from a lady during last Saturday’s Meredith community yard-sale since she was selling a ‘Pocket Erector Set‘. The question being: “How come they call ‘Meccano’ sets ‘Erector’ sets in this country, when folks are so sensitive about such words?” She didn’t have an answer. I would be embarrassed to buy a ‘Pocket Erector Set‘ for my son! Have YOU ever bought a ‘Pocket Erector Set‘ for one of your sons. Yes, I actually do have two BIG Erector sets in my study too!
I like the Doodle, but I am disappointed that it only has one, and rather poor at that, image of a Meccano kit and nothing showing Dinky. That is rather poor. Come on Google. Do some Googling before you create these Doodles (or ask me).
Hornby shaped my life. Thank YOU, Mr. Hornby.

I was visiting the ‘small’ (auxiliary) NH Liquor Store on Fort Eddy Road, Concord, NH, this afternoon and as is my wont of late checked on the price and availability of the Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau 2012.
Kind of bad news for us on both fronts, but good news for Georges Duboeuf and the NH Liquor stores. The price is still $9.99 (with no discounts in sight) and they only have 3 bottles left. I talked to the manager. Per him that is all they have. So we are unlikely to see it get discounted in January. Most likely those three bottles, prominently placed at the front of the store, will get swept up in the New Year’s Eve buying binge.
At the Market Basket, 3 doors down on the same mall, they had 9 bottles left, again at $9.99. Those were on the ground, next to the main aisle. I am surprised they have not got kicked. Given their location, they may last a bit longer unless somebody runs into them with their cart.
I am sure that you will be able to find a few bottles here and there into 2013, especially online. Plus, there are other labels too.
But, this is just a heads up. Supplies are running out. If you fancy another bottle or haven’t had a bottle as yet, I would do my best to pick one up this weekend. There might be more bottles left at supermarkets as opposed to the Liquor Stores.
Enjoy. It was a good year.
Happy New Year. Hear is to Beaujolais Nouveau 2013. May it be another cracker.

The Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau 2012 display at the Wolfeboro Liquor Store on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Click to ENLARGE
I had thought we might see a price drop in the awfully compelling 2012 Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau from $9.99 to $7.99, now that November had come and gone. This has been the case in the past though that might have been after Christmas. I will keep an eye.
Per the Wolfeboro Liquor Store, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the ‘Nouveau’ was selling well. They claimed to have sold 3 cases in the two weeks. Not sure if that is good or bad. They had three cases on display when I bought my bottle on ‘Nouveau‘ day. They were still using the same stacked 3 cases display. Could have been three different cases, or just a new case on top, the other two the same. I was at the Rochester Hannaford’s the day before Thanksgiving. They have a large wine aisle — double width. They had the same 3 case display, but only 2 bottles were missing from the top case. Again not sure how many cases they might have sold prior to that. I will stay on top of this and let you know as soon as they go on discount. Promise.

Fruity, Tangy, Fragrant & Light. A Keeper. A Winner

Yes, of course, there will be those (including my dear wife) that will readily and gladly quip that given the many, many, many gallons of wine I have consumed over the years, I couldn’t help but be an expert of sorts, I was amused and pleased that a professional came to much the same conclusion as me re. the Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau 2012. To be honest, I haven’t read a wine review in over a decade, and even then wine reviews were not something I read often given that I really bought or drank any ‘fancy’ wine. I had very pedestrian, though pragmatic criteria: it had to be wet and not too acidic. I am easy to please. I am enjoying my 2nd glass f the 2012 Nouveau as I write. It really is a pleasant, unobtrusive wine — as such ideal for writing with; i.e., lubricant for the rusty old brain.
Cheers.

The bottle that I bought at the NH Liquor Store in Wolfeboro, NH at 7:15pm on November 15, 2012, Beaujolais Nouveau Day 2012. Click to ENLARGE.
As promised, I went to the NH Liquor Store in Wolfeboro, NH, this evening, Beaujolais Nouveau Day 2012, around 7:15 pm, and bought a bottle of Beaujolais Nouveau. They only had the Georges Duboeuf and it was $9.99 as I had previously reported. At 7:15 pm I was the FIRST to buy a bottle from that store! More later on that.
The 2012 Georges Duboeuf is a quintessential Beaujolais Nouveau, in my opinion! Rejoice. It is fruity and aromatic. It is pleasantly tart, but that morphs quickly into a refreshing tanginess. It does not let you forget that it came from plump, purple grapes. You can feel the grapes, but in the nicest possible way. If you linger you can visualize the skins. It reminds you of eating grapes.
It is ultra palatable. It is extremely light. Even airy. Very easy to drink, with savour. Those that find reds ‘heavy’ should like this 2012. The ‘lightness’ is something to watch for in a Beaujolais Nouveau. It is expected to be that. If it comes across with flavor, as the 2012 does, you have a winner.
So, I am impressed. I only drank half a glass. I was tempted to have more. But, I refrained.
I wholeheartedly recommend this Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau 2012.
I did not get a chance to get to a Liquor Store till 7:15 pm this evening. I did go to the local Hannaford in Alton this afternoon but they didn’t have any Beaujolais Nouveau though they did have the Yellow Tail Shiraz at $5.99 a bottle. I bought one. I like the Yellow Tail Shiraz.
So at 7:15 pm, on a Thursday night, I visited the quite large, well laid out and well lit NH Liquor Store in Wolfeboro, NH. I was the only customer.
I found the Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau 2012 display. Three cases stacked on top of each other, the top case slashed open to show the bottles.
No sign. No price!
The opened case was full! I asked the girl. Yes, I was the first to buy a bottle! That is a shame.
I suspect the 2012 will go on sale for $7.99 within the month. I will buy a few then.
Till then, get a bottle. ENJOY. Cheers.

I was at Keene in my official capacity as a Granite State Ambassador (GSA) doing the ‘meet and greet’, registering pumpkins and at the end helping the crowds light the jack-o’-lanterns. Yes, of course, we knew HGTV was there. They were hard to miss. They came by out tend, given it was one of the official registration tents a number of times. I didn’t know they had taped me. We finally got around to watch the show (off the DVR) this evening. We were all joking as to who might appear since we all had a good chance, since we were all quite involved, especially at the end when the lanterns needed to be lit. The Deanna and the kids were here, there and everywhere lightning at 50. I am at about -11.00 (from the end).
Watching the program convinced all of us that to do this properly you need RFID and LED candles as I had prescribed.

So here is the final scoop so to speak. Keene, NH, on October 25, 2003 [i.e., 9 years ago], set the then official Guinness World Record with 28,952, for the 9th time in a row, the first record established by them in 1991 with just 600. See chart below.
But, 3 years later, the record was officially broken, with a certificate from Guinness to prove it, when 100,000+ people came together on Boston Common to light 30,128 jack-o’-lanterns — the event organized by the national ‘Camp Sunshine‘, a non-profit for Children.

Pumpkins in Boston in 2003, the skyline obviously very different from that of Keene. Picture from ‘outtamymindwithworry.blogspot.com’ — with THANKS.
Since establishing the then record in 2003, with its 28,952, Keene has managed to break the 29,000 mark twice, this year (2012) with 29,381 and 29,762 in 2009.
Wikipedia actually has a ‘Keene Pumpkin Festival’ page with lots of pertinent information. If you are still lusting for more information please visit them.
