Hotstar has NO IDEA
about covering cricket.
Do not even TRY to watch the World Cup on it
unless you are Indian or are Intellectually challenged.
For a start they BROADCAST the final scores all over the place! So, before you get to watch a match — or highlights — you know the results. What is FUN?
I have said this before, I will say it AGAIN.
Do not part with ANY money to Hotstar for the World Cup. It will be a rip-off.
The World Cup is available, in the U.S., on Willow TV. Now that is a proper and dedicated cricket company.
Go with Willow. Give Hotstar the finger.
Oh, and Hotstar is crooked, duplicitous and dishonest.
So far, So good.
I watched it. Both the 7+ hour ball-by-ball (albeit but for 35 minutes) and the 1-hour highlights. They were BOTH in the polished, professional format that we have come to expect and love from Willow TV.
I checked the schedule. All the other matches are still listed.
Warm up game 2 is also there, I didn’t have time to even click it open. Sorry.
If there was going to be a problem we probably wouldn’t have got this 1st match.
So, I am delighted.
Having to watch the World Cup on the idiotic Hotstar would have been PAINFUL. So, glad I have been spared that misery.
I am NOT getting too excited and getting my hopes up.
Willow, as it did with Vivo IPL 2018, last year, could screw us again, at the last minute.
So, let’s wait and see.
It all has to do with what constitutes STREAMING. Bloody, despicable (Indian) Hotstar, the scummiest company ever, has the STREAMING rights for the 2019 World Cup — in the U.S. (just like it did for Vivo IPL 2018 & 2019).
Willow TV could only show the World Cup 2019 on TV — i.e., not streaming. You had to TRY and watch the World Cup on Hotstar’s pathetic coverage.
But, keep your options open.
I am LUCKY. I have Sling/Willow TV & Hotstar. So, I am covered. But, I would rather watch on Willow TV that bloody Hotstar.
I will, of course, keep you posted.
Willow TV did it AGAIN.
But, this evening they were ALL gone.
Yes, it appears that it all has to do with the definition of ‘streaming’.
Vivo IPL 2019 is available on Willow — BUT not on Roku/Sling!
Luckily I already had Hotstar.
So, now YOU know.
Already watched the highlights of Match 1. SMILE>
My subscription did not end till this Sunday, i.e., April 22, 2018. So there wasn’t any point cancelling it earlier.
But, as promised, I did. Had it with Sling. It is a very duplicitous outfit. All they try to do is screw you.
“Hotstar” is NOT great. After the first two matches they again stopped having full-length, ball-by-ball replays. You can watch it live, but after that it is only SHORT, unsatisfying snippets.
Not sure what I am going to do come June and IPL 2018 is over.
For Vivo IPL Cricket In U.S., Cancel Sling TV/Willow And Get “Hotstar (US)” For $9.99 — 1st Month FREE.

With the 1st month FREE we have nothing to lose and much to gain. For those of you who like IPL it would be a godsend.
Definitely NO Vivo IPL 2018 on Sling TV. That is definite.
Actually there is NO NEW cricket on Sling TV via Willow or any other channel. Willow has totally gutted what is available on Sling TV as of mid-week.
I signed up with “Hotstar” on my Roku 3. It works. Need a PC to activate (with code provided on Roku).
No Vivo IPL 2018 as yet — but that starts TODAY.
So, this is my recommendation. NOT ANY LONGER! See below.

I have checked, double-checked, triple-checked and then checked again.
So, Sling TV, as they so often do is LYING.
I am so through with Sling TV.
I checked. I am paid up until April 22, 2018. That is IT. I will pull the plug.
