Kind of inevitable, I guess — and by ‘travelling circuses’ they mean any circus that is not performed, long-duration, in a permanent location.
Well, we have all seen what happened to the elephants with the ‘Barnum & Bailey and Ringling Brothers‘ “Greatest Show on Earth“. But, they continued to have a big cat act that distressed me greatly. I would close my eyes for the duration. I just can’t act.
But, I am, as some of you might know, strange about elephant acts! They do not bother me. Maybe it is because I grew up with elephants among us. Even had some mega-rich friends that kept elephants as pets. As long as they are well treated, elephants are like golden retrievers — just bigger and not gold. They like to please — provided you take care of them. We used to have the BEST elephant shows in Ceylon when I was growing up. So, I and elephant acts. We have a history, a context and yes, ambivalence.
But, I can buy ALL wild animal acts.
This would, however, permit dogs, horses, donkeys and I assume goats. That is OK. Dog acts do nothing for I. But, I know some folks adore them.
So, this is the state of play in the UK when it comes to circuses.
One MORE Female Zoo Keeper, The 6th To My Knowledge Since 2013, Attacked By Captive Big Cat; I Blame Hormones.
This has happened TOO MANY times of late for us to pretend that there is NO connection.
I get grief from women who think I am trying to prevent females from working with Big Cats. Not at all.
I am just stating something that you just cannot overlook. I am NOT an out-and-out expert but I do know some about Big Cats, females and female hormones. I have three daughters and currently live in a house with three females.
Female hormones are powerful entities. And if you THINK that a Big Cat cannot smell changes in female hormones you have been smoking some bad stuff for too long. That is my only point.
I think there is a hormonal connection.
I am familiar with, and have documented 4 instances of such attacks by tigers on female zookeeper, since 2013. They are: Dianna Hanson in California in March 2013, Renee Radziwon of Portland in November 2013, Sarah McClay in the UK in May 2013 and then Rosa King, at Hamerton Zoo Park, also in the UK, in May 2017.
That so many young female zookeepers are being attacked by Big Cats could, of course, all be but an unfortunate coincidence.
BUT, there is something else we should consider. These are all women were still of childbearing age. I think that there is an hormonal connection, something to do with ‘scent’ that tigers and lions can smell. IF you think they can’t smell changes to our scent due to hormonal changes, then you are probably not that familiar even with domestic dogs.
It is something, I think, that should be studied further. We might be able to save some lives of other female zookeepers.

When I saw this I knew that YOU would expect me to share it with you. DONE.
Just so I could be proved wrong, I am thinking about ordering one for myself and wearing it when I go to the beach. I think I will look OK. The only problem. From what I can see they don’t seem to make it in MY SIZE! They all seem too BIG to fit I. Dilemma. Maybe I could get somebody to alter the small size to fit I.
This morning, 11:30am.
This was funny and rather SAD. Played right into the ‘Fake News‘ narrative.
To be fair, the U.K. “Daily News” quite often steals the march over the rest when it comes to breaking U.S. news.
Not today. Got it totally wrong.
I was watching it live on TV when I pulled up the ‘Daily Mail’ on my pad. The TV is telling me that there is confusion and the ‘Daily Mail’ is emphatic. HUGE type too.
Hurts their credibility — and yes, I know that there are millions that will claim that the ‘Daily Mail’ has never had any to begin with. That is a tad unfair. I started reading the ‘Daily Mail’, while living in the UK, daily, home-delivered, over 40-years ago. So, we have a long history. But, I am UPSET with this. They should not have rushed.
C’est la vie.
