I Sold My Samsung S3 Frontier On Facebook For $180 Within 12-Hours.

Christmas 2017, a few days after I got it. This was a joke. I never wore two watches … ever!

First time ever I sold anything on Facebook. I wanted to see what it was like. Was not too, too bad. Have the advantage that you can check the respondents profile on Facebook.

Yes, as with Craigslist it started with 4 – 5 ‘crazies’. I could tell that they were ‘scammers’ because they had patently bogus names. I blew them off.

Then I got a message from ‘Steve’ who started off by asking whether I would accept PayPal. That got my antenna up. I will confess I gave him quite a grilling. Then he told me he was a Realtor from Rhode Island. I found him on the Web and called him. He didn’t know I was going to call. He answered. Turned out to be a nice guy. Yes, I am shipping it to him and he graciously paid for the shipping.

I am happy.

I got the Frontier S3 to be my dress watch and act as a backup if my main tracker failed — as had done my first Garmin Vivoactive 3. But, I had not worn it much. Wore it mainly between my second Vivoactive 3 and the Fitbit Ionic and while waiting for my Garmin Fenix 5. In total I must have worn it for less than 5-days.

10-days prior to Christmas 2017, Best Buy DROPPED the price of the S3 by $40. It was, as such, cheaper then than it is now. So, I am quite cool with the price. Of course I have to eat some depreciation, but I am ‘OK’ with that. I wasn’t going to be greedy and try to compete with the 20 or so folks trying to sell S3s for $200 — and have been doing so for weeks. I got full price. {Smile}

Once I got the Fenix 5 I knew that my chances of ever wearing the S3 was close to nil. They are very similar watches, both in size and appearance. Side-by-side they look identical. So, I knew that I should get rid of the S3 and use the money to get a used Garmin. That is what I am going to do.

Bulova GRAMMY Edition Watches A Tad Too ‘Clunky’ For My Taste — I Still Prefer The Timeless CURV.

by Anura Guruge

The CURV

I still get an occasional e-mail from Bulova because I once considered getting a CURV to replace my 26-old Rolex I gave to my son.

But, that was before I got the Fitness Tracker bug and strapped a Garmin (Vivoactive HR then and now a Vivoactive 3) to my wrist — last June. Now the only fancy watch I will consider is the Samsung S3 Frontier that I did treat myself to at Christmas.

Bulova does makes nice watches and they are GOOD VALUE for money.

With GRAMMY Edition they are, of course, trying to make a statement — and if you like bold, brassy watches then one of these will work great for you. Just not my cup of tea.

Syncing & Aggregating Data From My Garmin Vivoactive 3 & Samsung S3 Frontier.

I still have not started using the Samsung S3 Frontier I got for Christmas on a regular basis to make this an issue, BUT soon I am going to want to combine the data from both my Garmin Vivoactive 3 and the Samsung S3, in one place, so I have an accurate picture of what I did during an entire day. If not, the days I wear the S3 for part of the time will be out-of-place. Garmin Connect and Samsung Health will both claim I did not meet my goals.

I found this APP. I have NOT signed up yet (though it is FREE) because the first review I read said it will not work, AS ADVERTISED, with Garmin Connect and Samsung Health!

So, I need to check it out more.

Just thought I will share with you as I go along. I will keep you posted.

I Wore My Samsung S3 Frontier For The First Time Yesterday.

This was a kind of combined delayed birthday/Christmas present along with the Google Pixel 2 phone.

After the trouble I have had with my Garmin Vivoactive 3, I did not want to again be without an Activity Tracker on my wrist. Plus, the Samsung S3 Frontier really does double-up as a pretty decent dress watch. And that was how I used to it … when we went to Concord, NH, among other things to see the movie “The Greatest Showman“.

The Samsung S3 Frontier looks good. Wasn’t that heavy. I love the display. Great in a theater. Easy to read in the dark. I loved it.

It is not as comprehensive on the activity/fitness features as is my Vivoactive 3 — and it is NOT meant to be. Heart Rate monitoring is not constant — but more on demand. But, when I go out I would rather the have the S3 Frontier on my wrist than the Garmin.

I have found an APP that will let me combine the daily data from both. I have yet to try it.

I will keep you posted.

I Have Graduated To Having Two Activity Trackers, Garmin Vivoactive 3 & Samsung S3 Frontier.

I refused to wear the Rolex I had for 26-years, 24×7 even though I was told it would keep better time because it would always be at my body temperature.

But, since I got the Garmin Vivoactive HR in June 2017 I have got so used to having an activity tracker on my wrist that I feel LOST when I don’t have one. Well, when my new Vivoactive 3 died and I had to wait 8-days for a replacement I was very distraught.

Santa owed me a birthday present from way back in September. So, I called in my IOU. So, now I will have a backup if one of them fails, PLUS the Samsung makes a pretty decent dress watch.

Contrary to what Deanna says, I will NOT wear both at the same time to see if they record the same data. No way. This, for the picture, was the first and last time that they will grace my arm together. And no, I cannot wear a watch on my right wrist.
