Today
10 hours and 48 minutes of Daylight.

IF you live in New Hampshire I hope (I really do) that this has NOT escaped you.

It is so obvious and, moreover, WONDERFUL.

It is still light at 5:30 in the evening. Heaven!

I love it. I am a Sun Worshipper as my TAN testifies.

Enjoy.

It will keep on getting better until that DREADED, horrible day in June when winter turns the corner!

11 hits on this post today, which means that quite a few folks were ‘Googling‘ (i.e., searching on) “Nude Beaches New Hampshire” (or similar) TODAY.

It is the depths of winter and the beaches are covered in snow.

Look at the stats above. This post gets hits year around — albeit with more in the Summer months (when it makes sense).

Yes, it is also related to ‘Free The Nipple‘ & ‘topless‘ in New Hampshire and some of the spikes in the stats are when there has been news re. ‘Free the Nipple’ court cases.

I am NOT complaining. It just amuses I. Maybe folks are looking ahead to the Spring.

But, you are more than welcome to look and I do have similar posts for Maine as well as Acadia. SMILE.

Enjoy.

P.S., All beaches in New Hampshire are nude after dark. SMILE. I would know.

P.P.S., There are NO female topless LAWS in New Hampshire — though Laconia tries to enforce a local ordinance.

Welcome Yule!

MY Favorite Day of the Year.

Days start to get Longer.

The Winter Solstice, the SHORTEST DAY of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.

Evenings have ALREADY started to get longer — as of December 12, 2019!

It is sunrise that continues to be tardy.

Notice that sunrise does NOT get earlier following the Solstice!

If anything it continues to get later and later.

It is LATER SUNSETS that are making the daylight longer.

Sunrise does not start getting earlier until January.

Welcome Yule!

In the spirit of Revels I give YOU, in peace,
Dona Nobis Pacem‘ (Grant us peace)
for the Winter Solstice.

Rochester is always a good hunting grounds for pictures of flowers. Today was no exception. I lucked out. I think I still have at least a month left in terms of being able to snap pretty flowers OUTSIDE before the snow arrives in New Hampshire. So, I am going to make the best of that. Foliage is early this year. Very early. So, with luck I will be able to transition from flowers to foliage. Enjoy.

Pretty close to noon this year.
Kind of neat.
Most of us will be able to watch for it.

IF you pay real close attention
you can feel the Earth making the turn!

Plus

MY LEAST FAVORITE DAY OF THE YEAR!

Days start getting shorter — and I hate that.

To I, it means Winter is on the way.

11:54 am Eastern in the USA — 15:54 (or 03:54 pm) GMT.
