Garmin Is Recommending A ‘Soft Reset’ For Unresponsive (Frozen) Vivoactive 3 Trackers.
Got this on my Twitter account — with Garmin responding to my “Vivoactive 3 DIED” post from last Friday, December 1, 2017.
I went and checked the Vivoactive 3 “Owner’s Manual“. It is in their, on Page 19, under “Troubleshooting“. See below. Though it is called “Restarting” and NOT “Soft Reset”. I never got to that. I panicked.

My Garmin Vivoactive 3 DIES, Totally, After Just 15-Days.

I left a review at Amazon. Click to ENLARGE and read. You will find it under ‘1 star’ reviews for the Garmin Vivoactive 3 at Amazon.
I am in SHOCK!
It had just stopped at 2:55pm. Frozen solid. Green heart-rate monitor lights not working and could not get them to come on.
“Heart Rate Monitors USA“, from whom I bought it (via Amazon), was excellent. Lady called Jackie. E-mailed me a UPS return. Waited till I got it. Managed to JUST make it to the UPS drop-off before 5pm.
I am getting an exchange. That might have been a MISTAKE! I was in a panic.
This was so wrong.
I had worn it, non-stop, 24×7, since I received in Thursday, November 16, 2017.
Yesterday, was my day-off running and today (Friday) I had a breakfast meeting, in Wolfeboro, at 8:30am. So, didn’t go running either.
So, two days without running, GPS activated.
It was working fine in the morning. Working fine around 2pm.
Crazy busy day …
Close to 4pm, while typing on my PC, I looked at the Vivoactive to check the time. Said 2:55pm. Initially thought that I was doing better on time than I realized. Then it slowly dawned on me. That is NOT correct.
Totally FROZEN.
Read the Amazon review above. I plugged it into my USB port to see if I could jump start it. USB not working. Will not pair with phone. Bluetooth dead. HR monitor dead.
Yikes.
Not happy.
