2019 Spring Equinox In New Hampshire: Wednesday, March 20 at 5:58 pm (Eastern); 21:58 Greenwich.

by Anura Guruge

Happy Spring Equinox 2019.

[It is also called the Vernal Equinox
— that being the Latin for ‘Spring’.]

I also share with you “Spring“.

Please enjoy.

Sunrise/Sunset for New Hampshire as of the
2019 Spring Equinox.

Notice that it is NOT EXACTLY 12 hours of sunlight on the Equinox.
That is mainly because we are so good at measuring time.
It has to do with the so called precession of the Earth’s axis.
Our rotation WOBBLES like a spinning top.

From, of course (where else), ‘timeanddate.com‘.

MRI-Based Research Into How & Why Women’s Breasts Bounce As They Walk!

As soon as I saw this in the U.K. “Daily Mail” (which I scan multiple times a day) I knew I would be remiss if I didn’t share it with you.

You have to hand it to us Brits. Not only did we invent the very meaningful ‘Standard British Handful’ (SBH) measurement for breasts, but we are also indefatigable when it comes to researching anything and everything related to the mammary glands.

When women are jogging or walking their breasts are said to perform a ‘Figure 8′ motion.breastmotionchart

Well this ‘Figure 8’ claims destroys one of my few worthwhile contributions to science and education!

Yes. Way back when I was 18 I came up with a memorable discovery that helped many get through the intricacies of college level physics. I claimed it was Simple Harmonic Motion‘ as I describe in this post.

Well this research my vindicate my assertions. I will try and keep you posted.

‘SimpliSafe’ ‘Home Sweet Home’ TV Commercial (October 2018) — Another Catchy Ad Like ‘Tortoise & The Hare’.

by Anura Guruge

Click image to access video (with THE music) at iSpot.tv.

Heard this for the first time this morning and as with the (now famous) FedEx ‘Tortoise and the Hare‘ Ad THE MUSIC made me take notice.

So, from what I can see it is a background guitar track to the spoken narrative. But, WHAT guitar work? Paul Simon?

I checked, on YouTube, songs called “Home Sweet Home“. Don’t think the music is from any of them.

Yes, I checked. I cannot, as yet, locate the guitarist. But, this one might be easier than Tortoise and the Hare‘. One of YOU will know.

Just wanted to share and get your input.

Enjoy.

‘FedEx’ ‘Tortoise & The Hare’ TV Commercial — Is It Sung By ‘Jack Williams’ (Of South Carolina)?

by Anura Guruge

Click to access my original post re. this FedEx tortoise and the hare tv commercial.

I had an e-mail this morning from a reader of this blog opining that it maybe Jack Williams and that the ‘tortoise and the hare’ sounds like Jack Williams’ “Hand Me Down” (below).

I was NOT familiar with Jack Williams. I looked him up and listened to “Hand Me Down” on YouTube. Possible, BUT not 100% convinced.

Click to access Jack Williams’ Website.

YouTube of Jack Williams’ “Hand Me Down”.

Somebody else had suggested Paul Simon, but I am sure that that is a non-starter.

I think my first choice, British Johnny Flynn, is still a good bet.

IF you KNOW PLEASE do share. Thanks.

‘FedEx’ ‘Tortoise & The Hare’ TV Commercial — You HAVE To Listen To The Song. Mesmerizing.

by Anura Guruge

YouTube below.

I typically do my utmost to ignore TV ads. I either skip over them, change channels or read something until they are over.

This morning, as is my daily wont, I was drinking my first cup of coffee, lying in bed, with the TV onto MSNBC/CNN and reading news on my 10″ ASUS pad at the same.

THEN I heard this song. It sends tingles through me. I was like “what the heck was that?

It was familiar and alien at the same time. I rewound the DVR to watch what it was.

It was a FedEx ad. Hhhmmm.

The song was not familiar but the immaculate guitar work and singing were mesmerizing. I listened to it a few times. Brilliant.

Really liked it.

Google to find out who the artist was. I failed! I thought it might be the British Johnny Flynn who did the soundtrack for the ‘The Detectorists‘. There are similarities in the guitar picking. I checked. I don’t think it is him.

I e-mailed the Ad company. They have not responded. So, IF you know who it is, PLEASE let me know.

In the meantime LISTEN to the song. You will THANK ME.

The Jack Williams theory.

Pope Francis ‘Dancing’ To Jewish Hasidic Song At The Vatican On May 8, 2017 — VIDEO.

by Anura Guruge

OK. More ‘swaying’ than ‘dancing’.

Click here to access article in
The Jerusalem Post
that explains it all.

Let’s be fair. He is now 80-years old and is known to have bad feet — that requires that he wears heavy, ‘orthopedic’-type shoes. He also suffers from sciatica and we won’t mention his weight issues since becoming pope.

In his youth, he was, however, quite the rake. He was a BOUNCER at a nightclub, was an avid soccer player and had a girlfriend.

This is still cute. Enjoy.
