Start at around the 3 minute mark and watch.
I hope NOT. I like him. He might be a Republican but I think he is an honest, decent, conscientious man. I want him to be as able as he can be.
My mother as well as a number of other relatives have had Parkinson’s. Also a couple of folks that I have known.
I noticed his hand shaking RIGHT AWAY. It was hard to miss.
Yes, it could have been just nerves. Momentous occasion. He knew the world was watching. But, this is nothing new to him — not now. He was sworn in two presidents. He is on TV quite a bit.
The shaking continued. Possibly even got worse.
Parkinson’s is purely ‘mechanical’. It doesn’t, at least at first, impair one’s cognitive powers. So, that is good.
But, I am hoping that I am wrong. I really do like him.
This is great news. I was waiting for the results, on tenterhooks, all day. I kind of knew he would win, but you can never be sure.
I don’t live in Laconia, but I am sure glad for those that do. Life will be better with Andrew Hosmer.
Rejoice. A great day for Laconia.
He is genuinely good man.
Did I already mention that I was happy?
Andrew Hosmer, Hopefully The Next Mayor Of Laconia, Is A Very Decent, Honorable Human Being That Transcends Petty Party Politics.
I have known Andrew Hosmer for 8-years. He is a very good friend of a very good friend of mine. I got to know Andrew through her. Yes, we campaigned for Andrew in 2012 & 2016. So, he is someone I have interacted with — in person, both socially and ‘officially’.
I can tell you, with total conviction & conscience, that he is a very genuine, decent and honorable human being. Andrew Hosmer truly is ‘salt of the earth’. You can rely on him to do the right thing. You can trust him.
He is genuinely good man.
You can’t, and you shouldn’t, try to typecast him by party politics. Andrew Hosmer transcends politics.
Judge him as a man and you will be amply pleased and rewarded.
He will make one heck of a Mayor for Laconia. Of that I have no doubt.
Some of you may know that I have known the current Major, Ed Engler, for close to 20-years. Interestingly they are similar men! Ed is a good guy. So, is Andrew. Ed Engler to Andrew Hosmer is the perfect, logical and only sensible transition.
Andrew Hosmer reminds me of a New Hampshire legend — Ray Burton. I also knew Ray Burton. Ray also transcended politics. Ray always did the right thing — as will Andrew.
So, please make sure Andrew Hosmer is the next Mayor of Laconia. He will be a GREAT Major. He will make Laconia Great Again.

I just happen to show 3 of my FRIENDS here — Lisa DiMartino, of course, running for State Rep, debonair Andrew Hosmer, running, as an incumbent, for New Hampshire State and “Mr. Nice Guy — Ever”, Mike Cryans, running for New Hampshire Executive Council.
And then there is Lisa’s surrogate daughter who has campaigned for Lisa since 2012, when she was 11 years old.
Andrew Hosmer, The Perfect Gentleman (Though A Lawyer), Wins HUGE In NH Senate District 7. Great News For NH.
…by Anura Guruge
The first time I met Andrew Hosmer was at this year’s Laconia Multicultural Day when he was doing the rounds. We chatted briefly and I was hugely impressed. I introduced him to a ‘friend’ from Gilford who had lost his job at Hannaford’s. Andrew spent a lot of time talking with him. I decided that I was going to follow Andrew. I was not disappointed. Then I found out that my friend Lisa DiMartino, who also just won a seat in the NH house, was acting as Andrew’s fiscal agent. For me the deal was done. I was not just going to follow Andrew, I was going to root for him though Alton (where we live) is outside of his District 7. I am glad I did. Andrew has done all of us PROUD! Bravo. This continues to be a great, great, wonderful week for me, the family, Alton, NH, THE COUNTRY and the World. I am so happy and proud. Having folks like Lisa and Andrew in Concord is so good for the 47% — which includes us.
Andrew Hosmer introduced Dr. Jill Biden when she visited Laconia, NH on October 26, 2012.
Though I knew of his company, I only knew of Andrew’s opponent from what I had read in the media, as of the September primary race. I was amazed. For there to be so much smoke around him had to mean that something was smoldering. I was worried for Andrew. His opponent, in terms of signage and letters to the Laconia Daily Sun, seemed to be on a tear.
I had a brief, private chat with Andrew after the Jill Biden visit. He assured me that he was ‘looking good. Told me not to worry. But, I still worried. I counted signs on election day as I was in and around Gilford and Laconia doing my stuff for Obama. His opponent definitely won the sign contest. But, as with Obama, this election proved that signs means NADA. If anything it was those that had the least signs that won. I am so delighted. I had 4 Obama signs stolen. But, that is OK. Obama won. Romney lost. Same with Andrew. Andrew won. The signs lost.
I saw his opponents truck, emblazoned with the name of his company, illegally parked at the Gilford voting station. Yes, I have a picture of it — but I didn’t post it because I did not want to give his company any free publicity. To me seeing his truck illegally parked said it all. I wanted Andrew to win.
Andrew won. Life is good.
I can add another ‘I WON’ to my list. How great is that?
Lisa DiMartino, NH State Rep. Belknap County, District 2: Proactive, Effective Problem Solver (A Letter)
…by Anura Guruge
This letter appeared in the October 10, 2012 issue of
‘The Laconia Daily Sun‘, page 8.
I have known Lisa and her family for over 12 years and considers her an exceptional person, salt-of-the-earth.
Lisa DiMartino, NH State Rep. Belknap County, District 2 (Gilford & Meredith): PLEASE Make Sure She Is Elected.
…by Anura Guruge
I have known Lisa for at least 12 years, starting when she was this amazing Children’s Librarian at the always wonderful Gilford Library. First my son Matthew and then Devanee were huge fans of the library and I know that part of it was that Lisa ran the magical Children’s room. There was a time when Devanee, when she was 3 or 4, was going to the Library at least once a week. We all got to know Lisa and her family very well over the years.
She is a wonderful, caring, warm, helpful, knowledgeable, always ‘on-the-ball’ person. True, salt-of-the-earth. She is an exceptional mother, accentuated by having a special needs son.
Lisa will be a dream State Rep. for all of us with families, especially school age kids. She is an expert on health care and education issues in NH, with unique hands on experience as to the challenges faced by parents with ‘special needs’. Lisa will proudly stand up for us, Romney’s 47%. Gilford and Meredith are rich communities but there are still a lot of people in these towns that are not ‘rich’. Lots of folks without health care. Many worried about whether their kids are getting a decent education. If Lisa is in Concord, I know that she will fight for what is right for the majority. Lisa is above petty, politics. She will always try to do what is right for the average person, the typical constituent.
It would be so good for NH if we can have Lisa in Concord looking after our interests. So, PLEASE, if you live in Gilford or Meredith, vote for Lisa and make sure that you convince others in those towns to do the same. Thank YOU.
