I was going to say that liking tractors must be a male thing — until I realized, with a start, that I had noticed, that at least 40% of the participants in the tractor pull that I watched, around 4pm on Sunday, were females. So, I guess liking tractors cuts across the sexes. I have never owned a tractor per se. I owned, when I first came to the U.S. in 1985, a fairly big lawn-mower that had a pulling hitch — but it wasn’t really a tractor tractor. I really don’t have a use for one given that I don’t have the land. But, I do like to watch them — especially the old ones. Love their essential simplicity and how rugged they are. Anywho, I never visit Sandwich Fair (which is basically every year) without making a point of walking over to the tractor arena. Actually it is my favorite part. And yes, I also like to take pictures in that setting. Always a lot of color and raw excitement. Well, I wanted to share. Enjoy.

We have been going to the Sandwich Fair, every year, with at most just a couple of exceptions due to SEVERE weather, for the last 22+ years. It is a big deal for us. Something we plan ahead for weeks.

Today was one of the best days in terms of weather in a few years. Just Goldilocks. Not too cold, not too hot. The sun came out. In the afternoon the light was a delight for a photographer like I who insists on just shooting in natural light WITHOUT ‘props’ and post-processing. As is my wont, I took too many pictures — 400+. Yikes. I will try and share the best ones with you. This is but a start. SMILE.

By definition, ‘Sandwich Fair‘, that we have attended annually without fail for decades, is always good, always fun, always rewarding. No different this year. It was good. Cloudy, dreary day on the Sunday — the only day that we could attend. We have been in much worse. There was no rain and the temperature in the mid-60s was ideal. The light, however, was not good for photography and I struggled to get decent pictures — though, I discovered to my amusement, on the way home, that had taken exactly 600 (yes, 600) pictures. That is not unusual for I for a day. Have been known to take 1,100 to 1,200 too.

I have already done ‘7 Pictures of the Day‘ & the ‘Flower Show‘. The later is quite good and even the folks from the show liked them.

So, enjoy. I have more. I will try and post, time permitting.

Pretty amazing aren’t they? Always a highlight of going to the ‘Sandwich Fair‘ — as we do each year, without fail. Their ‘Flower Show’ winners. I always make a point of taking pictures. These were good and the pictures came out reasonably OK.

Enjoy.

Kids Don’t Like It When Their Parents Go On The Carousel — And They Are The Ones Left Watching!

This was at ‘Sandwich Fair‘. They didn’t want to go. Thought they were too old. So we went. Had 6 tickets left — needed 8 but I smooth talked my way in. So, they watched. I caught this as I wnt by. Classic. All the years we would stand and watch THEM.

I am never too old to go on a merry-go-round. I like it. Done it enough with the kids. Standing on the side. Now it is our turn.
