I thought I better chronicle it for posterity. I hope that the coming and succeeding years will be somewhat different.
PLEASE do notice that two of the watches, BOTH Garmin Vivoactive 3s, DIED on me. If they hadn’t died I probably still would be wearing a Vivocative 3.
My original Garmin Vivoactive HR is still going strong and just 2-days ago my daughter said that she still loves it. So, that is good.
The other daughter (12) is very attached to her pink Fitbit Ionic and it allows us to track her sleep — which is good since she appears to have some sleep issues. So, two of the watches are still doing good. I made out well on the Samsung S3 that I sold on Facebook within 24-hours. So, I am cool with that.
So, now the Garmin Fenix 5 — which I love. If I knew as much about Activity/Fitness trackers a year ago as I know now, I would have just gone with a Fenix 5 to begin with.
So, that is my saga ….
YouTube video claiming to confirm that the S4 will have
“Blood Pressure Monitoring” (BPM).
It lacked all of the activity, sleep, performance and stress tracking features to make it into a genuine alternative to a medium- to high-end Garmin. But, it was a decent Smartwatch for those that wanted just the basic activity tracking functionality.
In the last few days there has been a lot of talk in the media about the forthcoming Samsung Gear S4 — which might possibly be called the Samsung Galaxy Watch.
It is supposed to have a lot more activity and sleep features. But, it is also said to go all out on health monitoring, and might include “Blood Pressure Monitoring” (BPM). That would be big.
Some are talking some real fancy features like displays on the rim of the case and on the strap. That might be overkill. But, BPM will be a game changer.
I will keep you post.
