You can’t escape it. It is everywhere and all over. There is an abundance, bordering on superfluous. Yes, I am blasé though I try not to be and make a point of stopping to smell the roses and take a picture or a dozen. Well, that fact that I take this many pictures is proof alone that I do appreciate it. Well, I spend more time outside, walking, in the woods, than most. So, I do get to see a lot. I am not complaining. Soon it will be all gone. I know that.

I did not go for a long walk yesterday. It was my day-off. I have a system; three-days on, one day off. The foliage seems to have peaked within the last 48-hours. We also had 24-hours of light rain. That refreshed everything and the light wasn’t as harsh. It was pretty amazing. All within EASY walking distance of home. So, I don’t have to drive around to see foliage. Just walk. Enjoy.

Another gorgeous day in Central New Hampshire and the colors just adds to the glory. What a joy it is to be able to walk through this beauty. I stopped myself from taking too many pictures. There is only so many I can share with you. Plus, I did basically the same walk as yesterday, plus I will be doing it again next week. So, I wanted to keep some scenes for future shots. Tomorrow is my day off from walking/running but I will try to take some pictures — maybe even with my Canon EOS RP running Firmware 1.3. Enjoy.

Please check this post for how
meteor showers get their name and how they come to be.

Perseids on August 12, 2007 from NASA.

Perseids are the repeatedly left behind debris from the periodic comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle.

109P/Swift-Tuttle has an orbital period of 133.28 years and was last around in 1992. Its next trip to the Sun, perihelion, will be in 2126. It has an perihelion distance of 0.96 AU (i.e., just inside Earth’s orbit) and an aphelion of 51.2 AU — which takes it past Pluto.

The name, as explained in the post referenced above, comes from the constellation Perseus — where the meteors appear to originate.
