I asked the question nearly a year ago (as you can see from the image at the top).
Have YOU noticed it. I no longer (SMILE) watch as many White House Press Briefings as I used to. They are not as entertaining as they used to be — BUT that is a good thing.
Though I cannot read sign language I am GLAD that it is available. Yes, I do like watching them. Some, as you know, are very expressive.
This was disappointing and SAD. A grown man, who I used to think was pretty damn clever, just sacrificing his credibility and coming across like a total jackass — and I am NOT sure for why or for what?
I used to enjoy watching him on TV. He was good. But, today. It was like he had been drugged.
Shame. I felt real bad for him. Poor guy. Must be desperate — very desperate.
All Of The TV ‘Government Shutdown’ Clocks Are ONE DAY OFF — i.e., Day Short; ’12’ When It Should Be ’13’.
Because they are counting the DIFFERENCE.
It needs to be INCLUSIVE.
People do it all the time when they are doing dates.
They take the DIFFERENCE between the two days. For some applications that is ‘OK’, BUT not when you are counting something like a SHUTDOWN.
You have to INCLUDE Day 1, in this case, Saturday, December 22, 2018.
My calendar above shows it clearly.
But, try a simple example. Shutdown started Dec. 22. So, how many days shutdown at the end of Dec. 24. It is 3-days, NOT 2.
I actually saw Anderson Cooper talking about the shutdown being in its 13th day, above the CNN clock that said ’12’!
“Global Citizen Festival — Mandela 100”, From South Africa, Broadcast On MSNBC This Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018.
Another gala extravaganza to commemorate the GREAT Nelson Mandela’s centennial — i.e., ‘Mandela 100‘. It is, as it should be, in Johannesburg, South Africa. So, not something that most of us and pop down for.
But, MSNBC is broadcasting it, starting at 9pm, on Sunday, December 2, 2018. Definitely worth watching, recording or both. I plan to record it.
Did not want you to miss it.
But, as a father of a 12-year old daughter I am not happy to have a TV commercial, on Cable News Channels like CNN, MSNBC & CNBC, that runs during the DAY that openly mentions INTERCOURSE. That is not right. How is that acceptable and permissible in a country that does not permit any nudity on broadcast TV. So no nudity, even at 11pm, BUT it is OK to say ‘intercourse’ at 8:12am in the morning. I am not amused or pleased.
The ‘curved below the belt‘ commercial was not offensive. Just a tad funny.
But, this commercial is BELOW THE BELT.
Do YOU agree?
Did You Know That Israel Just Passed A Parliamentary Bill Proclaiming That It Is Principally A Jewish State?
I happened to see it when I was scanning through “Sky News” last night.
I was shocked — mainly in that I had not heard about it.
This seems like a MAJOR change in Israel’s status — but folks are claiming that it is not so. That it is only codifying the obvious and what has been the law of the land since its inception in 1948. Though I have visited Israel once, have done a ton of work for Israeli companies and have an alter-ego in Israel, I am not qualified to really tell you what-is-what.
My gut feel is that this is NOT good.
When I then hear that this could only have got approved under a Donald Trump presidency, it gets me worried further.
It just doesn’t sound kosher to I.
Looks like they are discriminating against all of the now-Jewish folk that live in Israel — and 25% of the population is indeed non-Jewish.
You should look it up. Appears that the Wall Street Journal did cover it bit my days of reading the WSJ on a daily basis are long gone.
The dinner per se is scheduled to start at 7:30pm, Saturday, April 28, 2018.
It is being held at the Washington Hilton (and NOT at the White House).
Guests will start arriving at the Hilton starting around 5:30pm.
Online coverage will be available from all the above PLUS “The Washington Post“.

I was watching the 8pm news on MSNBC on Monday night when I heard about this moonlighting story (i.e., first image above). During that I heard them mention 828 railway-related deaths in the U.S. in 2017. I thought I misheard. Rewound, played it again. NO, I had heard correctly.
Then it got me thinking. 828. Not that high when you think of the SIZE of the U.S. and the miles and miles of tracks involved. But, it does come to 2.3 deaths a day.
So, I Googled. Found this “Federal Railroad Administration” (FRA). Never heard of them before. They have a database. Hence the report. I can’t get the individual incident reports. But, this was a good start. Have a look

Wow. ‘Just’ 37-years ago? But, as far as I am concerned it has always been around. I didn’t make it to the U.S., this last time around, until February 1985 [the first time having been, but for a year, in Buffalo, 1967 – 1968]. So, CNN was here when I got here. Not sure when I started watching it. I think I was first exposed to it in all the hotels I was staying — given that I was travelling on business three to four days a week during those first 18 months.
I am a news junkie and have been for at least a decade. I watch CNN and MSNBC for at least 90-minutes in total every day. So I am sure glad that we have CNN.
Happy Birthday, CNN. Thanks Ted.

I just happened to see this, on DISH (ironically), while watching MSNBC earlier this morning.
From what I see ‘Boston’ is not listed as an impacted market … BUT who knows.
Yes, we have all seen these DISH/DirecTV blackout threats.
But DISH without CNBC, in particular, will be useless to I. I wake up, each morning, to CNBC on my TV. I watch is for over an hour.
So I am going to stay on top of this. This could be a bummer.
