New Hampshire 2019 TOPLESS Season Is Now Officially OPEN — June 10.

Rejoice. We finally made it — two weeks later than last year.

Yes, today, Monday, June 10, 2019, was THE day. First time I was able to walk/run TOPLESS this Summer. It felt good. As of now, into late September, I plan to walk/run topless.

Please feel FREE to do the same, irrespective of gender. New Hampshire DOES NOT have a statewide law banning toplessness — just a local ordinance in Laconia.

Typically the New Hampshire TOPLESS season starts in May. But, this year has been particularly cold. It fell into the mid-50s last night but quickly warmed up into the high-60s by 10am. By the time I got back, after 90 minutes in the Sun, it was in the 70s.

Don’t lose any time. Winter will be with us before you know it!

Amazed That Vermont’s 15′ ‘Middle Finger’ Statue Is Not Covered By SOME Ordinance.

by Anura Guruge

What I find most incongruous is that this is Vermont which doesn’t let McDonald’s have their iconic arches or permit any billboards. But, somebody can get away with this. I am delighted BUT it just seems fishy. Not all kosher.

OK, so I think I understand the ‘waivers’ that protect it. It is NOT advertising a business or service, so it is NOT considered a sign. Any sign would be regulated. This is deemed to be Public Art. I will buy that, but there has to be limits. It then appears that ‘giving the middle finger‘ is normally protected by the First Amendment. I can understand that. So, that is what probably allows this to bypass any obscene ordinances. But, but, but … Just doesn’t feel right.

What about height?

I am sure I couldn’t get away with this in New Hampshire.

What happens if these 15′, 700-pound statues start popping up everywhere around the country?

What then.

Tycho’s Supernova, In Cassiopeia, Was Seen Around ‘Now’, 445-Years Ago.

Naked eye Supernovas are quite rare.

That it happened in the 16th century when astronomy was gaining traction made it even more special.

And to cap it all it was ‘discovered’ and documented by Tycho Brahe, the Danish astronomer most famous, despite many notable achievements, for his artificial nose and for being Johannes Kepler’s mento — Kepler, of course, as in the famous astronomical laws.

New Hampshire’s Craziest Law — Ban On Collecting Seaweed At Night?

by Anura Guruge

This article in the U.K. “Daily Mail” (the newspaper I still read everyday) about the “Craziest Laws By State” is definitely worth perusing. I had read a similar one a few years ago but had forgotten all of them.

The Maine law about no Christmas decorations after January 14 makes sense and should be applauded because there is also a fire risk if the decorations, especially dry trees, are indoors.

I am sure that tens of thousands of New Yorkers, right now, are breaking the law — the one that forbids the wearing of slippers after 10pm.

Some are downright crazy. Check them out.

Clever. I am sure it was illegal. So she ran quite the risk.

I could get behind this.

As some of you know I kind of got disillusioned with the ‘Free the Nipple‘ folks after we all found out that most U.S. States did not have any real laws banning it and it was just a perception thing. This is different.

Remembrance Day / Poppy Day, 11/11: Canadian Rules For Their Red Poppy.

I, as somebody who wears Canadian Red Poppies, because I don’t have any from the UK (with the two lovely green leaves), I am OK with these rules — THOUGH I do wear a plastic, earring retainer, from Deanna’s vast collection, behind the pin to hold it in place. I lost two a couple of years ago and was devastated. No worries about I wearing a Poppy with a Canadian flag pin in the middle!

I am amused by the do NOT reuse requirement. Yes, I subscribe BUT I have NO choice but to preserve and reuse mine since Red Poppies are hard to come by in the U.S. of A.
