Night Splint, Brace & Compression Sleeve Can Definitely Help Alleviate Pain/Discomfort From ‘Plantar Fasciitis’.
All from Amazon.
Plantar Fasciitis is a new affliction over the last few months. Yes, kind of a pain. Recently I have tried using all the above aids & it has definitely helped — along with decent arch supports in my walking shoes.
Just wanted to share this with you in case you too were having issues. These aids are cheap enough. So worth trying. The secret, I have found, is to really lift up the arch.
Best of luck. Let me know how you fare.

Being part of a community feels rewarding, but it also involves responsibility. When it comes to stepping up and helping out your neighborhood, there’s no shortage of opportunities. Here are a few steps you can take toward a healthier and happier community.
Teach Children to Think of Others
Raising a new generation of compassionate and service-oriented humans is a great way to support your community.
- Learn about homelessness throughout the US and take steps to combat it.
- Be conscientious and respectful about activities like creating care packages.
- Encourage kids to participate in feeding the hungry in your neighborhood.
Consider Action to Help Animals, Too
Tending to animals is an excellent means of showing compassion to others.
- Ensure your adopted pet is spayed or neutered.
- Care for pets in your area by fostering, adopting, or volunteering.
- Take a hands-off with wildlife, especially baby animals.
See Where You Can Help Out in New Hampshire
If you’re local in New Hampshire, here are ways to focus your efforts.
- Learn more about New Hampshire and how to engage locally.
- Explore volunteer opportunities in your NH city.
- Offer to help out at the New Hampshire Food Bank.
No matter what initiative you take toward helping others, the potential benefits are endless. From improving your neighborhood to connecting with neighbors to changing the world — a little at a time — your effort will make an impact. All you need to do is take the first step.
Hats Off To Our Dean Kamen For Helping Out With Coronavirus COVID-19 Relief — This In The Form Of PPEs.
Dean is a GOOD MAN.
So, I was glad to see that Dean was helping out in these times of need. In this instance he didn’t dig into his very deep pockets. That is OK. He helped in other ways.
I have no worries re. Dean. He will be generous, with money, when he sees fit.
For now just applaud him for what he has done.

I saw this last night. I was beside myself. It is so, SO, SO WRONG — morally wrong — on so many fronts.
I think Pete did semi-OK, but not great. Yes, it must have been a shock (unless he got a heads-up beforehand). THIS WAS WRONG. This should never have happened. Pete, should have had a BETTER answer.
This is WRONG!
There is no way, in hell, that a 9-year old should be talking about orientation!
NO. NOPE. Not bloody right.
A 9-year old should NOT KNOW about sexual orientation.
What has happened to US.
Plus, his hormones haven’t kicked in — as yet.
He is prepubescent.
I am in shock.
His parents should be talking to Child Services. There is something WRONG here.
OK. You know what I am getting at.
This is WRONG. Bloody wrong.
9-year old. No. No. NO.
Pete, you should have DONE BETTER.
U.S. Chinese Communities Fundraising & Sending Medical Supplies To China To Combat The COVID-19 Virus.
Never occured to I that Chinese residents, in China, would need AID from outside. Yes, I had heard that they had run out of face masks — but I also knew that 95% of face masks produced in the world must be made in China.
Plus, like you, I watched those videos, in amazement, as China built huge hospitals — to fight the virus — in 10-days.
I had fallen into the trap of thinking that the Chinese Government was omnipotent and had more money and resources than they knew what to do with.
Would appear that this is not exactly the case. I checked base with a couple of Chinese friends, living and working in the U.S. (locally), and heard this:
“We have been busy doing medical relief supply fundraising for hospitals in China. We have 4th and 5th batch of supplies to out tomorrow to two hospital with 500 surgical gowns and 1200 isolation gowns“.
I was gobsmacked. I had not heard about this at all. I would have thought Governments & Aid Organizations (e.g., WHO, Red Cross) would be doing this. Not individual Chinese citizens living in the U.S.
I am, of course, also impressed and humbled.
1,200 isolation gowns. 500 surgical gowns.
Shipping anything to China, for reasons I can never fathom, is expensive. So, WOW, WOW, WOW.
I wanted to share this with you because I am sure that this is not common knowledge.
I will keep you posted.

Just as I suspected Alton is paying TOP DOLLAR. A FULL $100 cheaper in Manchester.
I did NOT look any further.
$100 to a teenager or even for most adults in NH is a BIG difference.
Until this past Sunday I really was NOT aware that the High Cost of teenage Driver’s Ed (also called Driver Training in this scenario) was precluding teenagers in New Hampshire from getting a driver’s license prior to them turning 18. I just had not run into that situation.
Last Sunday I was talking to a 16 year old and asked him why he did not have a license as yet given that Devanee had been reminding me for a YEAR that she will be getting her license as close to her 16th birthday as possible. Though she only turned 15 in October we are already looking for a car for her (because she is not going to learn to drive in her 1968 MGB).
So I was shocked and saddened when he told me that he (nor his parents) had the money to pay for his Driver’s Ed. and that this was a mandatory prerequisite if you were under 18.
1/ I had not realized that driver’s ed., in New Hampshire, is MANDATORY if you are under 18. No waivers. You can’t just do the $50 online course.
2/ I had not realized that driver’s ed., at $625, is expensive and that the total costs comes close to $700.
3/ I had not realized that there were kids who were being deprived of the chance to drive because they couldn’t afford driver’s ed.
It really shook me up. I know how important it is for people to get a driver’s license. I couldn’t wait till I could get mine.
That price was an impediment really upset me because of the Catch 22. These kids could make money, EASIER, if they had a license and could drive to work.
Well, in the case of this boy, though I had just met him, I fixed the problem. I am going to give him the money for driver’s ed. He can pay me back, interest free, IF and WHEN he can. I will not hold him to it. It is basically a present from I to him.
But that is just one boy. There must be others.
I have been thinking. I am going to TRY and pay for at least two kids a year — not counting my kids. That is the goal. So I will try and pay for another kid in 2016.
But that again isn’t enough.
We need a bigger program. A fund or a scholarship program. We need to try and help kids get their licenses. As it happened I was talking to the ‘Promotions Manager’ at Fidelity, in the Nashua (NH) office, and happened to mention this. I need to follow up.
So just bringing this to your attention. This is not good.
Pretty Obvious That Healthcare.gov, i.e., ‘ObamaCare’ [aka Affordable Care Act], Web System Is BEING HACKED; Denial Of Service (DoS) Attacks.
.by Anura Guruge
Given my 40 years in IT I kind of suspected that this would happen.
Much easier than blocking funding for ObamaCare.
Get a bunch of hackers, if necessary from overseas, to hack the system and flood it with ‘Denial of Service’ (DoS) attacks. We have had DoS attacks on other system.
This was SO, SO predictable. They had to have known.
Did YOU KNOW that NASA’s $11 Million balloon-based mission (BRRISON) to study fast approaching Comet ISON failed this weekend because they couldn’t get the damn telescope to come out of its casing! Yep, $11 million down the drain. Not a single picture. Incompetence.

Healthcare.gov Dead In The Water. Cannot Create Account, Cannot Login With Prior Account. This is CRIMINAL.
.by Anura Guruge
I need health care insurance, desperately. So I had struggled, manly, earlier in September, when ‘Healtcare.gov’ supposedly went online trying my darndest to set up an account that I could have used today.
I was foiled then — as I chronicled here, with pictures.
I have been trying for the last 45 minutes to either login with the account I created September 5 or create a new account that would enable me to get in.
The system just does NOT work.
Online CHAT is not operational.
This is not a joke.
I am sure that they spent BILLIONS on this system. They have been scammed.
For THIS I will gladly support President Obama being IMPEACHED.
Somebody scammed billions from the taxpayers.
This is NOT a difficult system to implement — and I am here talking as somebody who was very actively involved in the computer industry since 1974 (and started programming in 1969).
This is bad. This portrays the government in a very bad light — on the first day of their shutdown.
This guy (below) Bryan Sivak SHOULD BE FIRED. Today. This site, as all can see, is NOT SCALABLE. He screwed up, and he screwed up BADLY. Fire him. Impeach Obama.

Obamacare Already Crippled — Setting Up The Requisite Account At www.healthcare.gov Does NOT WORK! Trust Me.

I need health care insurance.
I have insurance through the NH state plan (since I am ‘self-employed’) but they are EXPENSIVE and they don’t like, on principle to pay any claims, and I have a $10,000 deductible.
I have been trying since last night to set up an account at www.healthcare.gov.
The app. does NOT WORK.
Keeps on giving me RANDOM errors.
I have tried it using different browsers. I have used different userids and e-mails — and even changed the security questions because one of the errors is that I used the same security question, and I didn’t.
Tried the help page. Got this PAGE ERROR page.
Got an online Chat …
They never even chatted with me … told me to call 1-800-318-2596. You can see:
After about 4 minutes I got a rep.
She sounded as if she was half-asleep and that I was waking her up.
She wanted my street address.
Then said that there was NOBODY AROUND ‘right now’, 12:00 pm (noon) Eastern time, to help me set up an account and that I should call back later. Couldn’t tell me when … later.
This is stupid.
I get they have spent millions setting this app. and it does NOT work.
This is crazy.
