This is what greeted me when I signed onto Fidelity this morning — as I always do.
I haven’t checked yet. It could be 100% legit. But, WHO would put a notice like that out on April 1?
I was kind of curious about the terminology used. Yes, I know my splits, but I find it hard to believe that any financial institute would want to talk about forward splits on April Fool’s day.
What a day. Now I need to go and visit Direxion. More distractions.
OK. I just checked. It is legit. Direxion did announce it March 15. Here is the link. But, come on Fidelity. Don’t make announcements like this on April Fool’s day! Get with the program.

It is not often that I say good things about Microsoft but they have outdone themselves. Bravo. Who would have thought that they could be this creative. Yes, I have always known that they have a lot of clowns working for them, and I guess this kind of clownish humor is right up their alley.
I am, and I hate it when this happens, getting kind of conflicted. I just switched over to Chrome, heart and soul, full-time, just over a week ago (finally saying Adiós to Sayonara FireFox, which I used, exclusively for 11 years). Over the last 24 hours I have discovered, to my chagrin and consternation, that MAYBE Bing is a better search engine. Did I just say that? I am looking around. I am still here. I have not been struck down by a bolt of lightning! Wow. I am not sure I am ready to switch to Bing. For heaven’s sake (not that I have ever believed in heaven).
I think I have the perfect answer.
Google should buy Microsoft.
Sod, anti-trust, I don’t trust Microsoft, never have, never will.
That will restore World order and life will be better for all.
So that is my new clarion call: Google please buy Microsoft.
Those damn background are compelling. I can’t take this. Another distraction and I really don’t have the time.
So, when Microsoft becomes a Google subsidiary we can just have ONE all seeing, all knowing search engine, Boggle — with clever backgrounds daily, and inspired doodles on special occasions.
Happy April 1.

Then hold down right-click button and start scratching.
It is a lot of fun.

They started in the U.K. when it turned midnight there at 8 pm Eastern (U.S.).
Now it is also on Google U.S. — as of midnight Eastern.
Deanna could not get it to work with FireFox 18.01. We abstain from IE so none of us have tried it with IE.
From the little I saw it is much easier with an actual mouse (well not the four legged variety) that with a laptop touchpad.

Google loves their April Fool’s jokes. I kind of had a hunch that they would do something special this year.
Though if you want to be pedantic, April 1, as does January 1, starts off in Australia (or thereabouts), MIDNIGHT GMT (UTC), i.e., London time, has always been the accepted start time for April Fool’s — given that GMT has ruled the roots, if not the meridian, for centuries past.
As Brit I am quite used to checking and using Google (U.K.), www.google.co.uk, and has a papal historian, http://www.google.it (Italy). So a few minutes ago I brought up Google UK. I was disappointed that there was NO visible doodle. Just for the heck of it I moved my cursor over the logo. The cursor turned from a pointer to a HAND. BINGO.
I moved the cursor. I saw a bit of BLUE appearing. It was SCRATCH doodle.
Brilliant. Amazing. Bravo. Kudos.
I think this is even better than the much loved Zamboni game.
So, just go to Google UK and move your cursor ABOVE the displayed Google logo. Wait till it changes … Then start scratching.
I was using Chrome. I haven’t tried it with another browser. I was too excited. I wanted to post.
I will go back and get more information.
