It was cute, at multiple levels, and brought a wry smile to my lips. Paul McCartney, you dirty dog.

January 1965. I must have seen that too, in Ceylon. I would have been 11, Paul 22.

Intriguing. That was his inspiration for “Lady Madonna“. I just checked the lyrics. See below. Yes, he does have “Lady Madonna, a baby at your breast“. Hhhmmmm.

Did he keep that January 1965 issue this long? Mary McCartney, in the photo credit, is his mother.

You just would have thought Paul would have seen quite a few OTHER breasts. Interesting.

As far as I can tell this is the first Topless in National Geographic since June 2016 — and this one, in the scheme of things, is pretty innocuous. But, I wanted to make sure that I did document it.

Interesting interview. I think I knew that he was a vegetarian.

I also think that I might be able to manage “Meat Free Monday“. Maybe I will start next week.

National Geographic, June 2016, Includes A Classic Topless ‘Tribal’ Picture.

I have to confess I was surprised (pleasantly, I think). I had assumed, obviously erroneously, that National Geographic’s freedom to print topless (semi-nude) tribal pictures — once it’s trademark — would come to an end when ultra-conservative ‘Fox News‘ acquired 73% ownership of the iconic society (and hence the magazine) at the end of 2015. Well this is the 3rd topless picture they have published in 2016 — with two appearing in the January 2016 issue. Maybe the editor’s want to prove a point as to their independence and rights.

The June picture (above) harks back to the good ol’ days when the magazine was still in monochrome. Straight, unabashed full-frontal. To be honest I missed it the first time around! Then when I saw them during my second browsing … it was like … how did I miss those suckers?

Anywho. I am doing my job of documenting and chronicling the topless in NatG since 2014. This as you can see from the gallery below is the 8th since 2014. Enjoy. Reflect. Rejoice that NatG still can escapes the clutches of ‘Fox News’.

DPReview Posts 30 Initial Sample Images From The New Panasonic Lumix ZS100 — Nothing To Write Home About.

They are definitely OK. Not bad, not bad at all. But nothing truly spectacular here — and that could be due to a myriad factors.

I can get this quality images from either my Panasonic Lumix FZ1000 or the new Lumix LX100.

I am kind of glad that I eventually opted for the LX100 without waiting for the ZS100 and my druthers about the larger sensor size in the LX100 being a better bet seems to be proving true.

Going to the Sandwich Fair (N.H.) is never an option. We always GO. The only variable, based on a bunch of criteria, weather always among them, is whether we go on Saturday, Sunday or Monday (going on Friday night just for the rides never a consideration). Shows, next to weather (and Teischan’s ballet), tend to play a big role. This year we picked Sunday because we wanted to see Roderick Russell. Our ‘buddies’, the ever delightful ‘Annie & The Orphans‘ were playing, twice, maybe thrice, on Monday BUT Roderick prevailed because we had already seen (and pressed the flesh with) Annie and the boys TWICE already this Summer. A bonus on going on Sunday is THE PARADE. It is always fun though this year I was saddened that my friend Ray Burton would no longer be there. I think it was the first parade, in decades, without Ray. Well I remembered Ray. WE hope to be in the parade next year. IF we make it I might take along a picture of Ray so that he again can be in the Parade.

So here are some picture … and then, per my new wont, a 95 image photo montage, as a video, on YouTube. You know the drill.

He wanted me to take his picture. I managed to click it. He was happy. I DO NOT have a clue as to who he is. IF you recognize him, or her, tell him, or her, that they are online. Cracked me up how happy he was that I snapped his picture — hence the thumbs up.

Our whole trip to the Sandwich Fair this year (a fair that we go to every year without fail) was all planned around the Roderick Russell show on Sunday. We saw him doing his astounding sword swallowing act two years ago at Sandwich and have been great fans of his ever since — that he had me on stage may have played a part. His show was scheduled to start at 11:20 and we got there just after 11.

We are glad we made a point of going to it. It was quite the show. World class entertainment. As I mentioned in yesterday’s post I am not a stranger to hypnosis though I have steadfastly refused to be hypnotized — for exactly the very same reasons that I never did drugs (though I hung around with some very heavy users). Ever since I was quite young I have kind of known that I like how my brain is and I don’t want anything messing with it (though some will argue that I should quit the wine if I am that concerned).

I wasn’t sure what to expect with Roderick. We know he is a mentalist too and I knew he would somehow meld the two together. To be honest I was worried for him. Wasn’t sure how a hypnosis show would go down at Sandwich — on a Sunday morning. Sword swallowing is one thing, hypnosis a very different ball game. I need not have worried. Roderick Russell excelled. He exceeded all of my expectations for the entertainment quotient. He is GOOD. Very good and he knows it — which is good.

He had the near packed crowd totally mesmerized and entertained. They will be having him back again. Of that there is no doubt or debate. He sure delivered on what he must have promised. He entertained.

Yes, Deanna volunteered. She has had some experience with hypnosis (though without much luck). She wasn’t, however, on stage for long. She is not a good hypnosis candidate.

So there is one key issue that has to be asked given that I am a professional cynic — and Deanna too has questions today. No doubt, no question this was CLASS entertainment. Better than any comedy act — ever. But was it real?

Only Roderick Russell can really answer that.

That said, IF you want to be entertained, go see Roderick Russell. This is his magical Website.

I shot 135 images during the show! Some didn’t come off as well as I would have liked. The stage was backlit by some strong sunshine during the entire show. As is my recent wont I put all these images into YouTube and created 6:42 minute photo montage set to music. The images are in chronological order. So they are as I shot them during the 1 hour show. You should be able to get a feel for what was happening. As ever I got some local color too. The chef is no other than Common Man owner Alex Ray. Don’t pay much heed to the older gentleman taking a nap. Maybe Roderick had hypnotized him at a distance.
