You got to hand it to Francis. He got it RIGHT.
He had admitted to having a girlfriend when he was a teenager. I guess we NOW KNOW that he isn’t a virgin. Thank GOD for that.
This raises a number of questions though.
UNLIKE the pope, many Catholic priests CLAIM to be virgins. YES, they do. No jokes (especially about little boys). So, does this mean that these poor priests have missed out on DIVINE PLEASURE. How cruel on the part of God.
Does divine pleasure ONLY apply to married, hetrosexual sex? I hope to GOD it does NOT include little boys! I am not joking. And I won’t even mention sheep.
I assume that homosexual sex does NOT qualify — with or without boys.
The pope also goes onto say: “and guarantee the perpetuation of the species“.
That cracks me up — coming from a celibate.
So, God is OK with celibate clergy though that means that the clergy plays no role in perpetuation of the species. I don’t need to mention boys — THANK GOD.
As for pleasure of food. The pope is walking proof.
WOW. This made me feel better — & vindicated.
I really MISS eating out & takeout. I miss Chinese. I typically eat Chinese, from a restaurant, twice a month.
This is the longest, by far, I have ever been, in my whole life from eating at a restaurant.
I just don’t get a good feeling.
Glad that the doctor is backing me up.
Taken with my Google Pixel 4 Phone.

We were there for the ‘Spring Cleanup‘. Given that I was working (for a change) & Teischan was in a hurry to get home once we were done, I didn’t get much of a chance to take many pictures. So, what I show here don’t do adequate justice for what they have in bloom. The Castle & the grounds are resplendent. All set for the July 1 Grand Opening for 2020. You really should go & enjoy the flowers, the magnificent views, the architecture, the culture & ambiance. Even the restaurant & cafe are open & they have GOOD food. Enjoy. SMILE.

Well, it was Maya’s 9th birthday yesterday, and kind of against my will, we ended up going to the Alton (NH) McDonald’s — because that is the tradition (and I had already established that we were just getting cheeseburgers for the DOGS & nothing for us).
I, being a Brit, NEVER use drive-throughs! Do not like them. Actually hate them. I like to go in an order & of late I can use the self-serve kiosk with aplomb.
Well, I was forced to use the bloody drive-through. NEVER AGAIN — and definitely not during COVID.
They do NOT have outside credit card readers. YIKES.
So, I have to hand my card over to an UNGLOVED kid.
Then get it back. No spraying.
This is NUTS.
Plus his mask did NOT cover his nose.
This is CRAZY.

From my Facebook (timeline). You can SEE the NAME.
They might be within CDC Code.
Doesn’t matter. Made I feel queasy and OUTSIDE of this virus I have never really worried too much about how food got prepared — coming from a third-world country and having bummed around quite a few other third-world countries.
This just did NOT sit well with I.
SADDEST THING. The SUPREME IRONY.
They were preparing this for ER personnel at the local hospital.
People taking care of other people!
If one person in ER gets it …
This has to be happening all over the place.
That Tourist Elephants In Thailand Are Suffering Because Of Coronavirus Is Absolute Bloody Poppycock.
Yes, of course, tourism has been badly hit and coffers are drying up. That we all understand.
Elephants, in Thailand or anywhere else, are NOT fussy, picky eaters. They do not need grains, elephant food, supplements or anything fancy.
They will just eat foliage. Any foliage. Yes, they will eat lots of it. Yes, LOTS. They will tear down and eat most green or yellow (think banana) foliage that they can get their mighty trunks on.
Yes, I know my elephants. I grew up in Ceylon where we had plenty of wild and domesticated elephants. I know my elephants.
I also spent 3 Summers in Thailand. So, I know Thailand better than most.
Elephants in Thailand cannot BLOODY starve. There is too much food ALL around them. Yes, the Thai will have to manage how the elephants get access to that food.
NO. NO. NO. They should NOT be let FREE! They are domesticated elephants used to being with & around people. You can’t cut them loose. Yes, they can and should be taken to parks, open wilderness that Thailand is (still) full off or vegetation should be shipped to them.
They have the money. They made PLENTY when the tourists were coming.
Plus, Thailand is NOT a poor country. They can well afford to take care of the poor elephants.
Got that. SMILE.
I am SORRY. But, this has been bothering I.
Yes, we ordered a LOT of takeout, recently — Sunday, March 22, to be exact — and we enjoyed it for the next 3-days. It was good. It was from our favorite restaurant.
Some of YOU know that I am friends with AT LEAST 4 restaurant OWNERS — and countless folks that work at restaurants.
I sure want to help them and support them.
But, ordering and eating takeout seems counter-intuitive.
Yes, I checked the online reports that claim it is SAFE.
That Sunday we got takeout we ate it — OUTSIDE — WITHOUT first microwaving it. That was a mistake.
If you do get takeout MICROWAVE it — ZP IT GOOD — for a few minutes.
Just imagine. Somebody, asymptomatic, coughs on YOUR takeout as they are packing it.
Yes, microwaving will help. Yes, that will kill the virus (I am sure).
OK. I checked with a DOCTOR. Honest. I did. I do have cousins (who still speak to I) who are doctors. SMILE.
She, who lives in the US, tells me that she will NOT get takeout. That is good enough for I.
I had been thinking about Easter, April 12, 2020.
Where to get takeout.
Now … NO.
Impressive and mouth-watering list already,
and there are a couple more vendors to be finalized.
So, this is GREAT.
Bring your appetites. You are going to need it.
The food, as ever, will be very reasonably priced.

We went for lunch at the “West Lake” on Sunday, September 18, 2016, to celebrate the publication of my latest book, “Brain Meditation” — given that our preferred ‘Chinese‘, the “Sea Bird” is closed on Sundays during the ‘Winter’.
The “West Lake” is yet again under new management — this time since around June 2016. Supposedly owned and operated by Chinese from China.
The food, and we had some Sichuan dishes and lots of appetizers, WAS GOOD. Presentation, as yet, not what it used to be.
The inside has been redone. Quite nice but dark — and a dirty, crumpled handwritten sign, taped to the wall, that said “Restrooms –>>” was unbecoming (and at my suggestion they took it down).
I have been going to the “West Lake” for 25 years. That was when it was under the legendary leadership of ‘Peter’.
It has had its ups and downs. We were there last year too — yet again when the “Sea Bird” was closed.
I don’t think they will ever win me fully over since I am very fond of Guy and Lan at “Sea Bird” and all their other relatives. Plus, I now have this fancy “Sea Bird” cap that Guy gave me the last time we were there.
But, that said, the food was GOOD. Prices … hmmmm! Very cute. No ‘point-of-sale’ system. The bill is all in Chinese with no item prices. So a long list of Chinese followed by the TOTAL & tax. It is OK. Cute. Like going to Boston Chinatown for ‘Dim Sum‘.
