Garmin Adds ‘Menstrual Cycle Tracking’ Support à la Fitbit To MANY Of Its Watches.

Though developed for the just announced Garmin Forerunner 945, the ‘Menstrual Cycle Tracking‘ feature is going to be available across many of Garmin’s mid- to high-end devices including some other Forerunners, Vivoactive 3 & Fenix 5 (Plus).

‘Menstrual Cycle’ is tracked using body temperature so your watch has to have a temperature sensor. That is the gating factor.

This feature has been on new Fitbits as of about October 2018. I got my wife to test a Fitbit Charge 3 with this feature last year and she was suitably impressed.

Though I just updated my Garmin Connect to the requisite 4.18 version, which has this feature, I don’t get to see it because my gender is set as ‘male’. No, I am NOT going to change that. But, from what I see, Garmin appears to offer more ‘note taking’ and ‘annotation’ options, e.g., you can record outbreaks of acne.

I know that many females will welcome this feature and put it to good use. So, I am glad.

Also, (as a Garmin shareholder to boot) I am glad that they did not restrict this to just the new Forerunner 945.

So, a good day for us Garmin owners.

Fitbit Charge 3 Syncs ‘OK’ With Google Pixel 2 (Android).

by Anura Guruge

I tried pairing it with my Google Pixel 2. I have never had any trouble PAIRING the Charge 3. Pairs easily and quickly.

The issue had been synching it once it was paired.

No issues with my Google Pixel 2. But, that has the latest & greatest Android software. Nonetheless, that serves as a baseline. Now that I can get it to SYNCH on my Pixel 2 we can move on.

Just wanted to share this with YOU.

Fitbit Charge 3 Might Have A Synching Issue.

by Anura Guruge

I was sent a Fitbit Charge 3 for evaluation last week along with the Polar Vantage V.

I haven’t spent much time with the Charge 3 because I have had my hands full with the Polar Vantage V.

Did, however, pair it to an Android phone. Pairing worked fine. Then discovered that I can’t SYNC it!

So, removed it from the phone and paired it AGAIN. Still can’t synch.

A little bird has told me that this might be a KNOWN issue — at Fitbit!

I am a bit put out. I will, of course, keep you posted.

I Got Both A ‘Polar Vantage V’ Sports Watch & A ‘Fitbit Charge 3’ Today!

by Anura Guruge

Getting them BOTH delivered, in the same box, by UPS, on a dreary, rainy Thursday in November can sure lift up your spirits. SMILE.

No. Nope, I did NOT buy them.

They were sent to me, by a reseller, for evaluation.

Yes {smile}, I do have the option of keeping one or BOTH if I like them. That is the deal. I write long (600 to 3,000 word) reviews for them, and they repay me for them with products IF and WHEN I want them. Good deal for both sides (in my opinion). So far they have been happy. IF not it is unlikely that they would have sent me $700 of product.

Crazy busy day with my LATEST book published! Though this was my 29th published book, it still gets me ‘excited’ and ‘distracted’. So, I haven’t even opened either of the boxes! Yes, I do have self-restraint.

I am NOT going to evaluate the Fitbit Charge 3. It with its interesting “Female Health Tracking” is better suited to be tested by a female — and I have no shortage of those in this house. I have convinced Teischan (12) to test it. Since she owns a Fitbit Ionic she is ideally suited.
