I Installed Firmware v1.3 On My Canon EOS RP — And In Case You Want The Instructions.

I got an e-mail yesterday, from Canon, saying that I can improve my photographs. Then went onto say that I should upgrade my Canon EOS RP to Firmware v1.3.

They made it easy. All you had to do to get to the update was to press a BIG RED button. Did so. Was slightly disappointed that the ABOVE instructions weren’t there! They are included in the ZIP file you download. Hence, why I published them here. I did a quick Google and got the gist of what I needed to do.

I had skipped v1.2. I had never done a firmware update on a Canon. Knew I would have to bit the bullet some day. So, decided to give it a try.

I knew I would need a formatted SD card and a fully-charged battery. Got that taken care of.

The process was very straightforward, smooth and quick.

I was all done in less than 10-minutes. No problems. Worked, to my relief, first time.

The new firmware does not appear to have clobbered the camera. That is good news too. So, so far, so good.

Taken after update.

Taking Selfies My Way — Yet Another From ‘Castle In The Clouds’, July 10, 2019.

IF you search you will see that MANY of my ‘Selfies My Way‘ have been taken at the magical ‘Castle in the Clouds‘. They have nice big mirrors with good lighting. Hard to resist.

A ‘selfie my way’ using a proper camera rather than my Google Pixel 2 phone. You can see why they say that the Canon grip on the EOS RP is pretty substantial.

This was at ‘The Flume‘, New Hampshire, on Monday, May 27, 2019. Yes, I am most often seen with a camera in front of my face. In this case, my 1-month old Canon EOS RP with the 24-105mm zoom lens.

Flowers Of Hampton Beach, New Hampshire — May 12, 2019.

It was Mother’s Day and we headed off to the ocean at Hampton Beach despite the gloomy, cold weather. It was our third trip to Hampton — and as with the last two times we had a wonderful, fulfilling lunch at ‘Jumping Jack Java‘ — our new favorite eating place south of Portsmouth. Suffice to say, given the weather, Hampton Beach was not crowded. But, it was. Still a fair number of people. My first trip there with my new Canon EOS RP. Only took my 35mm RF lens. I wanted to get used to it. That it has a macro capability helped.

Given the unusually cold Spring all the flowers were not out — even on the coast. But, they had two displays. I captured as many to share with YOU. Enjoy.
