The timing could NOT have been any worse for the pope. Day after he was carousing with the faithful NOT WEARING a mask — & saying “COVID will be beaten by God’s love” — his pet cardinal, Tagle, tests positive. Ooops!
Kind of embarrassing. But, we all know God loves his little pranks.
Cardinal Tagle is NOT the first cardinal to catch COVID. He is at least the 3rd.
On March 30, 2020, Cardinal Angelo De Donatis, the Vicar of Rome, was hospitalized with COVID. A few days later Cardinal Philippe Ouédraogo, Archbishop of Ouagadougou, of Burkina Faso, came down with it. There might have been others. So Catholic cardinals, despite being the supposed Princes of the Church, are not immune or spared.
Pope Francis MIGHT want to rethink his line & belief on COVID.
Let’s get this STRAIGHT & RIGHT. No beating around the bush.
WE HAVE NOT BEATEN COVID-19 YET BECAUSE GOD HASN’T GOTTEN AROUND TO DOING IT?
“Will be beaten by God’s Love“.
It is NOT beaten yet — so God’s fault?
So, I agree with the Pope.
What do YOU think?
I am surprised Trump hasn’t used this defense.
WOW. This made me feel better — & vindicated.
I really MISS eating out & takeout. I miss Chinese. I typically eat Chinese, from a restaurant, twice a month.
This is the longest, by far, I have ever been, in my whole life from eating at a restaurant.
I just don’t get a good feeling.
Glad that the doctor is backing me up.
I had NO idea that Walmart had done this.
Went to the Rochester (N.H.) Walmart Auto Center yesterday to try & get the a/c on our Nissan Quest topped up. It was CLOSED. Bunch of associates lounging around taking great glee in telling me they are closed.
How does that make sense?
Car repair was deemed ‘essential’ from the start. Other places are open.
I did some thinking. Yes, to be on the safe side they would need to disinfect the insides of the cars before they get in them. I can see that. But, other places do, & Walmart, more so than others, should be capable of taking that step in their stride.
I am disappointed — but Walmart disappoints I often.
I know that a lot of people rely on Walmart for their car care because they tend to be affordable.
No big deal for us. I will take it to another local shop.
Just wanted to make sure you knew about this.
So, what gives?
Yes, we visited Boston Chinatown on February 2, 2020, for Chinese New Year, & were concerned that we might have been too cavalier. Well, that was nearly 4-months ago. Much water has flown under the bridges in Boston.
It started in China, as far as we know, & plenty of Chinese got it China — though I think they got their death rate under control (or lied about the numbers).
But, what about the U.S.?
Were the Asians TOO SCARED to go to hospital or get tested. Suffered/died at home (in shame)?
I might spent some time looking into this.
I didn’t fancy stuffing it into one of my pockets. I wanted it handy, plus in such a way that I knew it was there.
When you have carried a camera on you, every day, without fail, for 6-years (or more), you become an expert at clips, snap-on ‘stuff’ & various straps. I didn’t have far to go to cobble up a strap in 2-minutes. Went to one of camera straps (& accessories) boxes (& I have 5 (yes, 5)) & I found exactly what I needed. Works like a charm. Easy enough to improvise.
Thought I would share. Enjoy.
This was her first crack at making one. Didn’t take her long. Under 30-minutes, at 10:30pm at night. I love it & am very impressed & grateful. She is pretty chuffed too – as she should be. Next day she made one for herself though she hasn’t used it. She is taking avoiding people to heart!

Well, it was Maya’s 9th birthday yesterday, and kind of against my will, we ended up going to the Alton (NH) McDonald’s — because that is the tradition (and I had already established that we were just getting cheeseburgers for the DOGS & nothing for us).
I, being a Brit, NEVER use drive-throughs! Do not like them. Actually hate them. I like to go in an order & of late I can use the self-serve kiosk with aplomb.
Well, I was forced to use the bloody drive-through. NEVER AGAIN — and definitely not during COVID.
They do NOT have outside credit card readers. YIKES.
So, I have to hand my card over to an UNGLOVED kid.
Then get it back. No spraying.
This is NUTS.
Plus his mask did NOT cover his nose.
This is CRAZY.

Yes, of course, absolutely bloody brilliant. WOW. Who would have thought.
Just 7 deaths — though, of course, even ONE death is too much.
They, especially the government & health professionals deserve much kudos & applause for this superhuman achievement.
Left the developed countries in the dust by quite a FEW orders of magnitude.
Yes, the numbers may not be fully accurate. But, I doubt whether, worst case, it is off by much more than say 1/100th. So, maybe 64,900 cases & 700 deaths. That is still absurdly low.
Until last night, when a cousin living in Sri Lanka, who happens to be a doctor, told me the details, I was NOT aware of the draconian lockdown & curfew.
They shut down all ‘ports’ — inbound & outbound. Not just passengers, goods as well.
It has been FORTRESS SRI LANKA for over a month.
They sure managed to keep the virus in check. BRAVO.
But, but, but … was it worth it?
At WHAT a huge cost?
I am sure that they will study this at Harvard, in years to come, as a Case Study. Was it the right thing to do?
Yes, when they started the lockdown, they, obviously, did not know what the infection & death rates were going to be.
But, the unintended consequences! WOW.
It, of course, has decimated the economy and the economy was already in BAD SHAPE following the tourist slump post the Easter 2019 ‘incident’.
People will DIE because of poverty!
This is sad. This is BAD.
Yes, of course, this being Sri Lanka there is dirty politics involved!
China will gain even more control.
All in all, I do not think this is good.
But, I am NOT an expert and I have no skin in the game.

From my Facebook (timeline). You can SEE the NAME.
They might be within CDC Code.
Doesn’t matter. Made I feel queasy and OUTSIDE of this virus I have never really worried too much about how food got prepared — coming from a third-world country and having bummed around quite a few other third-world countries.
This just did NOT sit well with I.
SADDEST THING. The SUPREME IRONY.
They were preparing this for ER personnel at the local hospital.
People taking care of other people!
If one person in ER gets it …
This has to be happening all over the place.
