Exactly the 10,000th picture shot with my Fujifilm X-E2s.

Filenames have cycled back to ‘DSCF0001’!

I got the camera, from Amazon, on May 18, 2016 — and didn’t start using it until the next day. But, I will take May 18 as my ‘Day 1’ with this camera.

I had had it for 45 days (1 month and 2 weeks) when I shot my 5,000th, picture with it.

5,000 in 45 days works out to 111.11 pictures a day. If I go with 44 days (which is the real number) it comes to 113.6 pictures a day — and I did NOT miss a single day.

I went from 5,000 to 10,000 in 31 days!

This comes out at 131.5 pictures a day.

I am sure there are others that take more pictures a day. But that is a LOT for me.

I am nearly done with this camera. I have had it with Fuji.

But I do NOT feel too bad. 10,833 pictures (since I shot 875 pictures today) is a fair amount. I kind of feel that I have got my monies worth.

Mr. “Annie” himself, the incomparable musical genius, Anatole Paquette.

Bob McNab, on bass, accompanying Annie for over 50 years!

Roy D’innocenzo, lead guitar and ‘Music Director’.

Scott Groleau on sax.

Peter Previte, the “Wildman” (nice guy), on keyboards.

Steve Giotas on the drums.

With a guest appearance from an aged elvis.

And as ever there it was FIREWORKS though Wolfeboro’s official pyrotechnics are on July 4th, not July 2nd.

You can add your own caption.

Another magical, enchanted, GLORIOUS evening in picture-postcard (waterfront) “Cate Park“, in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire — the ‘Oldest Summer Resort’ in the U.S. — with the incomparable, ever delightful “Annie and the Orphans“, now in their 52nd year! It was another perfect ‘4th of July’ weekend in Wolfeboro — a tad windy, but warm enough and no precipitation for miles. This has become quite the tradition. “Annie and the Orphans“, at Wolfeboro, in perfect weather, on the ‘4th of July’ weekend .

How they do ‘IT’, year after year, is just amazing. It was ‘packed’ as usual. The crowd (including us (of course)) just adores them. Revels in the music and joy they create. You can feel the enjoyment in the air. It is palpable. They really should find a way to BOTTLE their magic. Other groups will pay big bucks to enjoy anything close to this success, adoration and following.

We all rocked on well past the advertised 9pm. There were ‘unofficial’ fireworks in the background. It was so, so much FUN.

I have raved about “Annie and the Orphans” for so many years that I really am lost for new things to say. They continue to be brilliant — and they are in their 52nd year. I have been following them for 20 years and Deanna for longer.

It was a wonderful evening. Really set you up for the Holiday weekend. And they will be in Alton soon. Can’t wait.

Thank YOU “Annie and the Orphans”. You indeed are a N.H. Lakes Region TREASURE and INSTITUTION.

Us At ‘Cate Park’, Wolfeboro — 2016 (The Obligatory Once A Year Photo).

by Anura Guruge

We have been going consistently to the Summer concerts at delightful ‘Cate Park‘, in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, for quite a number of years now. On Saturday, July 2nd, 2016 it was to see our favorites “Annie and the Orphans” who we try never to miss when they are in Wolfeboro or Alton. Invariably while we are at Cate Park somebody either offers to take our picture or they take a picture with their camera and send it to us. This time a very kind lady, seated close by, asked whether we wanted our picture taken. We, of course, took her up. She used my Fuji X-E2s.

On the way home it dawned on me that I was probably wearing the same shirt that I was wearing in another picture. I was right and that was the 2014 one. What can I say. I have a very limited wardrobe — not helped by the fact that of late I have been giving my shirts away (not to mention cameras, watches, gold bracelets … whatever). But at least I am wearing a different hat.

Yes, we danced. We danced quite a bit — with each other. We also both danced, independently, with a 92-year old lady from South Carolina. Deanna has pictures of me dancing with that lady. I was getting coffee for Deanna when she danced so we don’t have pictures of her dancing — or for that matter us dancing.

92-year old from South Carolina at the “Annie and the Orphans”, Cate Park, Wolfeboro, NH, concert. We both danced with her at separate times during the evening. She was neat.

Us at ‘Cate Park’ in 2014 — July 5th also at an “Annie and the Orphans” concert! Déjà vu all over again especially since I am wearing the same exact outfit (a true testament to my limited wardrobe).

5,000th Picture With My Fuji X-E2s Camera — In 45 Days!

by Anura Guruge

Exactly the 5,000th picture shot with my Fujifilm X-E2s.

Its filename is ‘DSCF5001‘. There was no 5000. Went from 4999 to 50001 (in a new 105_Fuji folder).

I got the camera, from Amazon, on May 18, 2016 — and didn’t start using it until the next day. But, I will take May 18 as my ‘Day 1’ with this camera.

So I had had it for 45 days (1 month and 2 weeks) when I shot this, my 5,000th, picture with it. It happens to be a subject ‘close and dear’ to our heart’s — “Annie and the Orphans“, this being at Cate Park, Wolfeboro, on Saturday, July 2, 2016.

5,000 in 45 days works out to 111.11 pictures a day. If I go with 44 days (which is the real number) it comes to 113.6 pictures a day — and I did NOT miss a single day.

With my Panasonic Lumix FZ1000 I shot 6,000 pictures in 118 days — which came to 50.8 a day. That is half as much BUT that is easy to explain. Most of the time I had the FZ1000 I also had another camera, the Sony RX100 II or the Panasonic Lumix LX100. I tended to alternate between the cameras. So that explains why I have taken more pictures with the X-E2s.

Bottom line is that nobody can say that I do NOT use my cameras. 5,000 in 44/45 days is a good clip. I think I get my money’s worth from my cameras.

I did take 186 pictures on Saturday while we were at ‘Cate Park’. SMILE. I will share some of them with you ‘shortly’.

This is neat. Yes, I am chuffed!
We have been, for at least two decades,
among their greatest fans.

So this is an honor for me.
For them to acknowledge my words about them.

Rejoice!
This is what life is meant to be.

SMILE.
