“A Quiet Place” Movie (2018) — Breathtakingly Bad; I Refuse To Stay Quiet About It.

With Halloween nearly upon us, Teischan (12) wanted to see a ‘real’ horror movie. She picked this after having seen trailers for it online. I had never heard of it, but was happy to indulge her — and, furthermore, it was available on Amazon Video for $4.99 (in HD).

Well, she was suitably petrified and as such impressed. But, even SHE noticed some of the blatant flaws in the premise of this story and the plot.

It is just plain unrealistic. Too many holes. Not at all logical. Leaves you very unsatisfied. Shame. They could have done better if they had given the storyline some thought.

Do NOT recommend unless you want to spend 90-minutes watching a totally mindless movie.

“The Illusionist” Movie (2006) — Even Better & Still Enthralling The Second Time Around.

I am not a great fan of rewatching movies. As such, I do it quite rarely. “The Illusionist” was one such exception and I am GLAD I watched it again. It was better the second time around.

I had seen over a decade ago — which is fair enough in that it came out 12-years ago.

It is now on Amazon Video which is how I came across it. I wanted Teischan (12) to see it. That is why we watched it, Saturday night.

Great story. Great magic. Easy to watch. Very enthralling. Highly recommended. Enjoy.

Just giving you a heads up because the RENTAL OPTION for ‘Lion’ seems a bit elusive on Amazon Prime at least for now.

We found the rental option via Roku search rather than on Amazon Prime Video.

Glad we did. We did want to watch it.

Great movie BUT I do have some comments that I will write about in a separate post.

Given that Amazon rentals are only valid for 48-hours (once you start watching) we had to end up renting it TWICE — since it took us 2.5 evenings to finish watching it. No big deal. Still cheaper than going to a cinema to see it.

Definitely worth watching. Very moving.
