The vibrancy that oozed out of Saturday’s ‘Laconia Multicultural Festival‘, September 12, 2015, was palpable. It indeed was a festival; colorful, merry, noisy, aromatic and collegial. Everybody was having a good time. This was Laconia at its very best on what was a picture perfect day. We are great supporters of this ‘Day’. We have been to all but one of the 14 ‘Multicultural Days‘ — last year being the one exception because we happened to be in Acadia.

This year’s ‘Festival’ was good. The energy and spirit was back. It reminded you what it was meant to be. I miss the night concert that we used to have but 2015 was indeed memorable. There are now two venues for music, the traditional stages in ‘Rotary Park‘ and a new performance tent at ‘City Hall’. That was good. More variety, moe music. Quite a few vendors, though the numbers might have been a tad down. Wasn’t packed, but a respectable crowd. I always wonder where all the other people from Laconia, Gilford, Tilton etc. are on the day. The ‘Festival’ is hard to miss.

“Black Thunder” & “Neha Parikh’s Classical Indian Dancers”, two perennial favorites and “Sayon Camara’s West African Drumming” as well as the “O’Brien Clan” did us all proud.

Lots of good food at affordable prices. Interesting merchandise. Not a hint of trouble or strife. A few police officers around — and they could be seen having a good time interacting with the folks. I took about 230 pictures. I will try and showcase as many as I can.

Thank YOU Laconia. That was good. Bravo!

Zebras necking Philadelphia zoo Anura Guruge

This was beyond cute. I have seen videos and pictures of zebras kissing but this was NECKING in its classic sense. Cracked me up.

We had gone to the zoo, Philadelphia Zoo, on Sunday, May 17, 2015, so that Devanee could at last see some giraffes. We had been to the National Zoo in Washington D.C. but they didn’t have giraffes. We tried to do ‘Animal Kingdom’ at Disney last year, given that they do have giraffes BUT were foiled by the rain. The zebras were in the African savanna section of the zoo sharing the enclosure with a huge rhino.

My Job As The Lightning Rod For ‘The Next Pope’ Is Done. I Did Pretty Damn Well Too! Got Everything BUT Name RIGHT.

Click to ENLARGE. Yes, Bergoglio WAS on my published ‘top 10’ list in ‘The Next Pope 2011’, page 4. That is indisputable.

So, lets go through what I did get right:

1/ I did list Jorge Mario Bergoglio as one of my ‘top 10’, though he was my last. But, better than those that did not have him at all in their lists. Proof: pages 4 & 29 of ‘The Book‘.

2/ I said on December 6, 2010, I said: “The Next Pope Is Also Likely To Be Over 75”. Proof: this post & page 7 of ‘The Book‘.

3/ On April 20, 2010, I said: “The Next Pope: Non-European, Non-Curial With ‘Clean Hands”. Proof: this post & page 11 of ‘The Book‘.

4/ I adamantly maintained that the next pope will not be from Africa, Asia or the U.S.A. Proof: this ‘pigs will fly’ post at a minimum & page 12 of ‘The Book‘.

5/ I was beyond categorical that the next pope will not be ‘Peter anything‘. Proof: this post as a start & page 221 of ‘The Book‘.

6/ I did foresee that the new pope might assume a brand new name. Proof: page 226 of ‘The Book‘.

Find me anybody else who got as much right … in published, verifiable form.
