It is SCARY that Google keeps track of EVERYWHERE I go!
Well, this is there summary of my travels in 2020 — COVID-19 or NO COVID-19.
In the end I travelled as much as I normally would have — THOUGH I did not take any type of public transport, get ANY takeout or go to a restaurant as of March 2020. So, all of these trips were road trips — many of them documented here.
Then right through the Summer it was Day Trips — though one involved a 9-hour drive.

2020 Christmas Revels (Cambridge, MA) Traditional ‘Thank You’ Video — To Help Us Look Forward To 2021.
I have already openly lamented, multiple times, that NOT going to ‘Christmas Revels‘, in Cambridge, was the WORST COVID-related DEPRIVATION I suffered in 2020! Think about it. Not going to restaurants, not going to Acadia, not going to Boston — missing ‘Revels’. Moreover, as my 14-year old daughter, another HUGE ‘Revels’ fan (who has been to at least 11 Revels) will attest, I was worrying about it getting cancelled way back in March! That was how early I was thinking about Christmas ‘Revels’ — & that from a man notorious for refusing to plan too far ahead. We, i.e., she & I, had even agreed that we would go to the LAST show — going to last shows something we like doing.
So, getting this video was a consolation.
Needless to say, it is VERY GOOD. Brilliant. Nice to see some familiar faces & hear some voices we know so well.
A BIT put out to see folks seated in MY SEAT in the balcony! That is supposed to be where I am. SMILE.
Watch. Enjoy. Plan for December 2021.
Busting my knee on February 28, 2019, when I slipped on ice, & the amazingly successful surgery a week later, proved to be an EYE OPENER, a turning-point in my life. I had been walking/running prior to that, BUT my busted knee (& pre-diabetic blood glucose levels) told me that I had to UP my game.
It has now become second nature. I just put in the steps.
So, it can be done.
IF I can do it, then anyone can.

The 1998 (very 1st Lego advent) to the left & 2006 (year ‘she’ was born) to the right.
The 1998 now on the right & 2020 on the LEFT.
You can see how they have evolved.
The very 1st, in 1998, was CLASSIC lego (of the time), CUTE & simple. They didn’t have many ‘shapes’/’models’. There were at least 5 planes.
By 2006 they had got more sophisticated. Of the three, that is probably the best.
2020 is just cheap & tacky.
We have 6 others too! Smile.
The BBC of The Queen’s Christmas 2020 Broadcast
— on YouTube.
The Queen, at 94, still looking resplendent & in CHARGE.
I am so HAPPY.
As ever it was and inspirational.
My Christmas is not complete until I see the Queen’s Speech.
ENJOY. SAVOR. RELISH.

What my title should really say is: “The USPS can’t track packages & deliver at the same time“.
The tracking is basically the issue. Having to track items screws them up. I have learnt this over the last 3-years from similar experience. Doesn’t happen all the time, but happens MORE OFTEN than not.
Just recently when I was at my local post office I heard one of the ‘postals’ saying this to a customer who was inquiring why a tracked item was still in the system rather than having been delivered. TRACKING.
This is PRIORITY MAIL. 11-days & it has moved 58-miles!
Yes, the COVID Christmas of 2020 has exacerbated matters, but this is what we have in this country.
To be honest, I will just be glad if it just gets delivered.
Just a snapshot. A collage. NOT COMPREHENSIVE. Much more, BUT I haven’t got around to capturing it all.
Yes, we still have 3 Christmas trees, BUT for the first time in 14-years ONLY one is real. Two fake! Yikes. NOT my decision. But, someone — & we will not name names — wanted a PINK Christmas tree. Hard to find a real Christmas tree that is pink. SMILE.
Two Santa villages. 10 Advent calendars.
Given that they have been doing nativity scenes for so long, they, i.e., the Vatican, does like to experiment & try out new themes.
This one is ‘interesting’. Yes, kind of a time warp so to speak. An astronaut, in a spacesuit, at the birth of Jesus.
But I can see how this one could irk him more than most.

Got 3 this year: 1998 (very 1st Lego advent), 2006 (year ‘she’ was born) & 2020 (this year).
Older ones … 2 are Advent ornaments, HUNG on tree.
Having 3 side-by-side sure gave us a chance to compare how Lego advent calendars have evolved since they introduced the first one in 1998.
And the answer is NOT very well.
The 2020 is cheap & chintzy with very little appeal.
The 1998 is CUTE but you can see how dated it is.
Lego basically has been cutting costs.
Yes, the new ones come with a MAT. Even in 2006 there was NO mat.
But, another sign of the times. C’est la vie.
