“Paddington 2” Will Be In New Hampshire, This Friday, January 12, 2018. A Heads Up.

Loved the first movie. Seen in TWICE, once in January 2015, when it first came out and ‘recently’ on Netflix (or similar).

Definitely want see this sequel — ASAP. Hoping that we might be able to do so this weekend. We will see.

I have been known Paddington all my life — the first ‘Paddington’ appearing in 1958, when I was 5 and a vociferous reader of English books. I also got to be very familiar with the eponymous railway station. So Paddington is special to I.

I will, of course, write a review as soon as get to see it.

‘Burnt’ 2015 Movie: Interesting, Explosive Glimpse Into The World Of A Michelin-Star Chef In London.

by Anura Guruge

Interesting movie. Fast paced, lots of drama and expletives galore à la Gordon Ramsay — and I am not sure how much of this echo’s Ramsay in that this is set in London, though it harks back to Paris.

Chef’s intrigue me. I could never have been one. I do not have the patience and would NOT be willing to spend so much time and effort on something that is so transitory — i.e., food that is to be eaten, then and there. But, I like to watch their devotion.

This is not a masterpiece. A common or garden movie, in reality. But, easy enough to watch in that it is fast-paced.

Appears that it is available, for FREE, on YouTube.

Google, As In 2016 & 2015, Does A Footnote For 2017 ‘Memorial Day’ Rather Than A Google Doodle.

by Anura Guruge

Google has NEVER done a Google Doodle for Memorial Day!

I guess it has to do with some kind of policy that they eschew anything associated with war and conflict.

I can understand and appreciate that to an extent.

But, I think Memorial Day transcends war though by definition it is holiday honoring U.S. war dead in all conflicts.

Amazon’s 2015 Movie, ‘The Dressmaker’, Set In Australia, Is Engaging And Sometimes V. Funny.

The Trailer on YouTube.

Given I am an Amazon Prime member I get regular e-mails with Prime Movie recommendations.

This movie was in one of those e-mails last week. I added it to my Watchlist.

Being set in Australia and the 1950s time period made me think that it might be along the lines of “A Place To Call Home” — a series that we all really got hooked on.

I was right. Definite similarities.

Not a bad movie at all; at all. Actually quite a GOOD movie.

Engrossing story line. Some hilarious parts. Easy on the eye.

You will like it. Promise.

‘Free Fillable Forms’ For 2016 Federal Tax Returns Now Available At IRS.gov.

by Anura Guruge

Yes! YeS! YES!

I just love ‘Free Fillable Forms‘ — from the IRS, available to ALL, for FREE.

I have been using it, with GREAT SUCCESS, for the last 6 years (if not more). It works like a treat and every year they refine it a bit more to make it even better.

IF you know your way around a 1040 this is just perfect. It does NOT get in the way. It doesn’t ask any questions. You just plug away.

Just wanted to let you know the 2016 version is available for 2016 Federal Taxes. Way too early for me. I don’t get all my tax forms till early March!

Enjoy. Happy 2015 Taxes. Smile.

Beaujolais Nouveau 2016 Is Here In New Hampshire. Thank Bacchus & Georges Duboeuf.

Read my review of the Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau 2016.

I drove to Concord, New Hampshire — 40 minutes away — to get 4 bottles.

It was definitely worth it.

The “New Hampshire Liquor and Wine Outlet” store, as per the norm, sure had a display — top two pictures, above.

But, it was NOT the featured display. One amongst maybe 20 others! Took me a few minutes to find it. The white labels used in 2o16 didn’t help.

But, the 2016 Beaujolais Nouveau is here. Thanks, Georges Duboeuf.

Enjoy. It is an easy enough wine to drink.

Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau 2016 — THE Review: Tart & Robust, But Congenial & Easy On The Palate.

Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau 2016 is ANOTHER keeper — thought that is really a misnomer since it would be incredibly hard not to drink any and all bottles of this very robust, mature wine.

Yes, it is SLIGHTLY more TART than what we had in 2015 & 2014. And by ‘tart’ I am referring to the level of ‘tannin’. But, it is definitely not unpleasant, or at least will not be for those that are accustomed to drinking ‘adult’ red wine, especially from France or Italy.

It is, as you would hope, fruity and earthy. ‘Heavy’ but in a very nice way. Slightly pungent to the nose, but that has to do with the tannin. Will definitely appeal to red wine drinkers. It is a wine that will make you ‘THINK’. Raise your eyebrows in wonder and APPRECIATION. A mature wine. An adult wine. Maybe not for those that like delicate, sweet wines. Beaujolais Nouveau is meant to have tannin, be fruity and be ‘heavy’. And the 2016 Georges Duboeuf is definitely that.

I like it. Definitely two thumbs up.

I bought 4 bottles to start with. I just finished my first ‘full’ glass as I wrote this. I will have to go and get a bit more. I like it.

We have been luck with the Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau over the last few years. They have all been GOOD.

Definitely give the 2016 a TRY, IF you like red wine. You will be glad you did.

I am very pleased with the 2016. Yes, the price has gone up again. Not sure whether that was justified. Some will claim that this is NOT a $10.99 red wine. And they may be right. But, Beaujolais Nouveau isn’t just about the wine. It is also about the OCCASION. The chance to indulge, the chance to imbibe.

My recommendation, provided that you are a red wine drinker, is for you to get at least one bottle of the Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau 2016. I know you will not be disappointed. This is a ‘keeper’ and my that what I mean is that it is a ‘DRINKER’. {SMILE}

Cheers. Enjoy.
