Today’s INSIGHT: ‘Drummer’ Used To Be Another Name For Travelling Salesman.
Did YOU know that? I did not.
I was reading a book set in the 1860s when the term came up — it was talking about two ‘drummers’ who were visiting a midwest Army fort carrying their ‘goods’. Stumped I. So, had to look it up. WOW.
