Garmin’s New ‘Enduro’ With Extended Battery Life Is Not For I; NO Maps & There is NO Solar Charging In My Winters!

by Anura Guruge

Thanks to the support of my friends at ‘heartratemonitorsUSA‘ I have, over the last 3-years, been lucky enough to get & wear the latest & greatest of Garmin watches — including even a MARQ. So, if I wanted I could have asked for an ‘Enduro‘ BUT I didn’t.

It is NOT for I.

First & foremost I do NOT need that extended battery life. Yes, it would be NICE, but charging my ‘Fenix 6 Pro Solar‘ is not a hassle. Though I use at least 2-hours of GPS every day, I only need to charge it every 3-days or so. I could actually go longer, but it is like topping up the gas tank in your car. When I get down to about ‘3-days left’ I like to charge it, just in case.

Plus, the ‘Enduro’ does NOT have maps. I do not in reality use my Garmin maps that often, BUT I like having them.

Plus, there is the whole SOLAR CHARGING thing. I actually got the ‘Fenix 6 Pro Solar (Titanium)‘, that I wear most of the time (rather than my ‘Fenix 6 Titanium‘) because Solar Charging intrigued I & I wanted to see how much solar I can get, in New Hampshire, in the Winter. I now KNOW the answer. I am not totally stupid & suspected what it would be like — & I was right. Like today. ZERO. NADA. Nothing — even though I was outside for nearly 3-hours.

So, no ‘Enduro’.

I suspect we will see a ‘Fenix 7’ or equivalent this year. Yes, I will get that.
