First Walk On Lake This Winter — & It Was Pretty Cool.

Our lake, ‘Halfmoon Lake‘ in Central New Hampshire. I am sure this is the earliest I have ever walked on it. To make it more interesting, it was VIRGIN snow. No snowmobile tracks on the main body of the lake. There was not even any animal prints once I moved away from our beach. Yes, someone had drawn a BIG heart by the beach — the bottom left picture (above).
I am leery when there are no snowmobile tracks. My logical is simple but impeccable. If the ice can support the weight of a snowmobile, I am all set.
But, as you can see from the GPS track, way up at the top, I did NOT venture too far from the shores. It is shallow close to the shore. So, if I fell in, I would only go as far as my waist. I can deal with that. Fallen through the ice 5-times before. SMILE.
