I Am Scheduled For Cataract Surgery With Toric Lens Implants — I Am Psyched.
This really could be a game-changer for I. After enjoying fairly decent vision for much of my adult life — thanks to the ‘bionic’ lens I wear on my right eye — I have noticed that my vision has declined in recent years. Yes, the cataract in my right eye was progressing.
Well, I am scheduled, as of today for cataract surgery next month. But, MUCH can change & I have to pass a physical & in my case that is always a challenge.
The doctor, in Boston, plans to implant a toric lens in each eye! Wow. I have keratoconus in my right eye — hence the ‘bionic’ lens. Keratoconus, in essence, is astigmatism taken to its extreme. So, in my right eye, the toric lens is unlikely to give me full correction. I will need a contact as well. But, it should improve vision. I do not have Keratoconus per se in my left eye. I didn’t even think I had much astigmatism. It is my ‘normal’ eye. But, the doctor contends that a toric in that eye will help. So …
I will keep you posted.
