Going apple picking in early October is a cherished, annual family ritual going back many, many years. For the last 5 to 6 years we have invariably gone to ‘Appleview Orchard‘ in Pittsfield. It is closeby (under 20-minutes) & they serve good ‘eats’ in addition to the PYO (i.e., pick-your-own). But, this is 2020 & things are different — especially when it comes to eating out. Plus, due to the severe drought we have had, they, on their Website, was saying they didn’t have many apples to pick off the trees! So, we looked at other options. Then we remembered ‘Hackleboro Farm’. We had been there once, apple picking, a LONG TIME ago. Had to look it up. It was a hike — mainly because it is all back roads. Took us about 45-minutes. But, it was worth it. Fun. Extensive. Plenty of apples. We enjoyed it. Might go back next year. But, that is a longways away.
