The Best Fed Squirrels In Town.

by Anura Guruge

I have no beef with my squirrels. Other than eating all of our bird feed (at least what is leftover from the bears), they have, SO FAR, done us no great harm in terms of property damage. My ardour for them could change, on a dime, if they did chew up one of the cars or came into the house. BUT, for now, all is cool. They just scamper about in the yard — annoying the dogs every once in awhile.

I feed them — in the hope that it would stop them from attacking the bird feeders. That doesn’t exactly work, but what the heck. It amuses I.

So, this was their treats today — corn cobs & a corn log.

The Great ‘Titian’ Would Have Approved Of His Modern Namesake ‘Teischan’ (14) — The Renaissance Girl.

by Anura Guruge

The great renaissance artists prided themselves on being multifaceted; multitalented. They could adroitly turn their hands to many things. Well, Teischan is following suit.

Today she wanted to use the power saw to cut some shelves to size. She has been proficiently using this saw for the last 2-years. I am impressed. I just stand & watch — and take pictures much to her chagrin.

So, this is her Summer. The 5′ mandala is nearly done. So, in between, she is RE-MODELLING her room — YET again. She does this like 3-times a year — Summer, Christmas & Easter.

Well, I am NOT complaining. I am TRYING to get her to start DRIVING. She has a CAR. Yes, a Jag. SMILE. Not mine. I have a Jag. She has a Jag.

“Ernesto’s Manifesto” (2019) Movie On Amazon Prime — Totally Mindless, Implausible BUT Real Good ‘Feel-Good’.

by Anura Guruge

YouTube trailer

The cricket was rained off, so I thought I would grab a quick movie for a change of scene. Kind of glad I grabbed this one. Suspected that it would be treacly. It was, but in a decent, semi-good way. Watchable — since it is so mindless & predictable! Implausible beyond the pale. Crazy stupid. But, has a nice feel good touch. Just let it wash over you. Not sure I would explicitly pay to watch this. It was ‘free’ for I on Amazon Prime — & I pay for Amazon Prime not for the free movies. So, I consider the movies free — provided I am not renting one.

So, that is it. Mindless (& stupid) BUT feel-good. So, you decide.

Selfies From The Tippy-Top Of ‘Acadia National Park’, I.E., Boulder On ‘Cadillac Mountain’ — July 15, 2020.

That is US.

She insists that I clamor up.
BUT, she helps me & is awfully concerned that I don’t fall off. SMILE.

This is the Boulder BEFORE I clamored up.
She gets up there in a flash.

The view from the TOP.

Another of her FAVORITE spots in Acadia. She looks forward to climbing this. She gets out of the car & races for it. We have not seen others get up. It is not that hard. I can manage. I need BOTH hands. So she holds my camera while I get on (& off).

This was from our day trip on July 15, 2020.

From 5-years ago. She was 9.

This Picture Of ‘John Lewis’ & ‘Joe Biden’, From 2013, Made My Cry — Today!

by Anura Guruge

I happened to see it on MSNBC, this afternoon, on the 3pm news while having a late lunch.

It sent an electric SHOCK through I. WOW.

It made my CRY.

I cried for what we HAVE LOST.

Yes, we have lost John Lewis & that is a HUGE loss.

But, that is NOT what made me cry.

I cried for the COMMON DECENCY, fellowship & GOODWILL we have lost!

Metamucil Shortage — I Have Switched To Straight Psyllium Husk Powder (Konsyl).

by Anura Guruge

Yes, I know that Metamucil is supposed to be psyllium-based, BUT, I will be honest. They, i.e., Metamucil vs psyllium, FEEL different. Not sure they act the same either! That is crazy.

Dietary fiber & soluble fiber should be dietary fiber & soluble fiber. There should be no apparent difference. But, there seems to be. They feel different as you drink it. NO, it is NOT the sugar. SMILE. I get the ‘SUGAR FREE’ Metamucil. It could be the way Metamucil is ground. I do not know. I did a quick ‘Google’. Nothing jumped out at me.

I first started getting straight — generic — psyllium husk powder from Amazon. Then I saw the Konsyl at Walmart — which is where I have habitually bought my Metamucil for 20-years. So, kind of habit.

Don’t ask me why, BUT I am sure the Konsyl is MORE expensive. That was also the case with psyllium husk powder from Amazon! Does not make sense. Just letting you know.

Well, the way I look at it, the Konsyl is better than nothing. Just wanted to share with you. OK? SMILE.

With Comet NEOWISE (i.e., C/2020 F3) Fading, There Is NOTHING New On The Horizon.

by Anura Guruge

BOTH from: http://www.aerith.net/

NOW you may begin to appreciate why I, for one, was SO EXCITED (& animated) by C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE). Our 1st genuine naked-eye comet in 23-years!

It could be another 23 before we get another one — and, I, for one, will not be around for that.

Hopefully, it won’t be that long.

That is the glory of comets. We could discover a new one tonight that proves to be a great. With comets you never know.

I have started doing my own research — putting together an Excel spreadsheet. I am NOT seeing anything that looks promising. I will, of course, keep you posted.

Keep your toes crossed. We need all the luck we can muster,
