Well, it was Maya’s 9th birthday yesterday, and kind of against my will, we ended up going to the Alton (NH) McDonald’s — because that is the tradition (and I had already established that we were just getting cheeseburgers for the DOGS & nothing for us).
I, being a Brit, NEVER use drive-throughs! Do not like them. Actually hate them. I like to go in an order & of late I can use the self-serve kiosk with aplomb.
Well, I was forced to use the bloody drive-through. NEVER AGAIN — and definitely not during COVID.
They do NOT have outside credit card readers. YIKES.
So, I have to hand my card over to an UNGLOVED kid.
Then get it back. No spraying.
This is NUTS.
Plus his mask did NOT cover his nose.
This is CRAZY.
But, this scam, which has been going on for 2-years or more, does not sit well with I.
Roku has to be complicit. Plain & simple as that.
Roku could take steps to fix it.
Roku could put a BIG banner on the activation screen saying “NO ACTIVATION FEES”.
Roku could provide a hotline for those that are asked to pay.
Roku should be held responsible.
This is beneath Roku.
I am disappointed. I hope Roku fixes this ASAP.
