Just Google: ‘why no sign language at white house‘
I had kind of noticed this, in passing, in the past, but it never ‘registered’ per se.
But, now with everyone doing Coronavirus COVID-19 briefings IT is so obvious … so glaring … so conspicuous.
Nothing at the White House.
Then they cut to a briefing from a State and voila (though I just learnt that NY doesn’t do it either).
Does NOT make sense.
You would think there would be a law. Maybe not.
BUt, I wanted to bring it to your attention.
YES, it is true that most modern TVs and streaming devices do support on-the-fly subtitling. But, you can’t assume that everybody has that capability or can ‘read’.
I just want CONSISTENCY.
If the States (bar NY) do it, shouldn’t the White House?
That is all. SMILE.

AND the subtitles tend to be inaccurate…
In a live event they also tend to lag. Do YOU know the answer to this? Thanks.
I can imagine many answers, but have seen no official ones. Frustrating! Inconsiderate! Disrespectful! Ignorant! Dismissive!
All of that. Very strange. You would think that Congress would have addressed this. Thanks. Have a great day. Expecting MAJOR storms up here, in the Arctic circle. SMILE.
Stay safe…
