This 15-hour fasting was NOT an intentional part of my new diet — the one that I have been on for the last 11-months following my major knee surgery (to repair a busted quadricep tendon).

What I did was CUT OUT all snacking, cold turkey and with ruthless determination. I have 2.25 meals a day. A HUGE dinner around 8:30pm. A LARGE lunch just before 2pm and a miniscule breakfast around noon. That is it for solid food. NOTHING in between.

Though I was on a fairly strict low-carb diet prior to this snacking on raisins, nuts and cheese was my downfall.

I have totally (and I mean utterly & totally) given up nuts & raisins (and I (being a nut myself) am very partial to nuts).

I love cheese. I can live on cheese. But, now I restrict myself to a little amount of cheese every 4th day.

It has kind of worked. I have lost some weight — like 30 pounds (13.6 kilos, 2.1 stone). Still some ways to go. Really want to lose 3 to 4 more pounds to get down to 142 pounds (10.1 stones, 64.5 kg).

I had never heard of the 16:8 diet until last week. It amused I. I don’t think 1-hour makes much difference.

I am NO stranger to fasting! I used to, in my prime, fast 3-days a week! Yes, 3-days a week: Monday, Wednesday & Friday.

Then for about 15-years I fasted 30-hours once a month.

I don’t fast anymore! I do NOT consider my 15-hour break from solid food fasting. Just part of my routine.

Just thought I will share this with you in case you were considering a 15:9 diet. Piece of cake. Requires NO effort.

Oh, I go for a 90-minute walk/run in the morning which helps. SMILE.
