Chinese New Year 2020 – ‘Year Of The Rat’, January 25 to February 8.

So, Chinese New Year 2020 starts Saturday, January 25th.
That seems early but it is, of course, within the bounds.
The Chinese New Year starts following the 2nd NEW MOON after the December Winter Solstice.
So, January 25th it is.
Though I think of it as a ‘February’ holiday we have had it in January quite recently — and even earlier, e.g., January 23 in 2012. It could even start on January 21/22 as it did 2004. It can’t be earlier than that.
The Dragon Parade celebrations in Boston Chinatown will be on the SECOND Sunday, viz., February 2, 2020. I will confirm.
Enjoy.
Happy Chinese New Year.
